As a UD Nursing major, you'll prepare to be a knowledgeable, adaptable and reflective healthcare practitioner. The program is a unique partnership with Sinclair Community College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program — top in Ohio for success of its graduates on the NCLEX nursing exam. This partnership allows students to become a registered nurse (RN) after their third year, and if they desire, work while finishing the BSN program at UD.

The curriculum incorporates both liberal arts and science courses, which help students develop clinical reasoning and intuition. You'll apply evidence-based practices to impact change in health practices both locally and globally. The program integrates Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) Core Competencies, the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (The BSN Essentials), and the UD Marianist educational philosophy of educating the whole person.

Our focus is to advance the state-of-art design of civil systems and lead efforts in sustainable infrastructure development. In our program, you’ll gain firsthand experience working with international faculty. Sponsors such as the National Science Foundation, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and more, offer hands on opportunities for UD students.

Students gain technical and conceptual skills in the field of photography, with opportunities to collaborate across a wide range of fields and disciplines within the art world and beyond.

The criminal justice studies major is individualized and students choose the justice path that is right for them. The program is an excellent academic home for students interested in law and legal careers, intelligence, forensic psychology, federal law enforcement, probation and work with at-risk populations in the community.

Students receive a professional art degree and teacher licensure upon graduation. Licensure is transferable to other states and unlike other art education programs, UD students start working with young people right away.

In the School of Business Administration, you may participate in the Discover Business program if you are unsure which area of business is most appropriate for you. The structure of the curriculum is such that the final decision about a specific major need not be made until the junior year.

As a first-year student, you'll participate in a one-credit course in business educational planning where you will learn about the nine majors available in the School of Business Administration. This experience will help you select an appropriate major and provide the necessary framework to help realize academic, professional and extracurricular goals.

The UD School of Education and Health Sciences offers 11 undergraduate degree programs and 11 undergraduate certificate, licensure & endorsement programs to help prepare students for careers in education, health, wellness, sport or physical activity. UD SEHS also offers 24 graduate degree programs and 22 graduate certificate, licensure & endorsement programs. Students gain valuable experience through research, study abroad, internships and community programs.

The issues facing us today are increasingly global in nature. The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.

As a UD Intervention Specialist major, you will learn skills necessary to teach students with mild to intensive disabilities through coursework in development and content, clinical experiences and community engagement opportunities.  You will gain an understanding of students at various ages and stages of development, and from various cultures, socioeconomic levels, ethnic groups and ranges of abilities.  You will have the opportunity to supplement your teaching license with additional credentials in preschool special needs, urban education, Catholic education, the education of speakers of other languages or specific certification in supporting students with Dyslexia.  A STEM lab and Curriculum Materials Center are among the numerous resources available to you.
