The issues facing us today are increasingly global in nature. The context in which we lead our professional and personal lives is steadily becoming more multicultural and global in scope, demanding new levels of international knowledge - knowledge beyond just geography, a few phrases of a foreign language, and a guide book.

Computer information systems (CIS) overlaps many other fields, so we prepare our students to face a wide range of challenges. The CIS major has a built-in minor that allows you to choose an area of interest, such as entrepreneurship or financial mathematics, that will greatly enhance your marketability after graduation.

Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education. In addition to our rigourous academic program, students can work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as discovering novel inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps as a way to combat multi-drug resistance in bacteria, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings, and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments.

Environmental biology is a dynamic and growing major which prepares students with the scientific background needed to understand and address the many pressing environmental concerns that exist in the modern world. Our program emphasizes experiential learning and creates opportunities for students to get out of the class room into nature.

The Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy program at the University of Dayton is designed for experienced early childhood professionals — such as program administrators, supervisors, teacher leaders and other professionals — who work with and advocate for young children and their families.

Sure, they play a large part, but our approach involves preparing, analyzing and communicating relevant information — not simply numbers — to decision makers. You'll understand the value behind equations, using critical thinking to ascertain their meaning. The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts emphasizes a broad arts and sciences education with supportive studies in art, photography, design and art history. Students receive a breadth of exploration in their coursework.
