Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education. In addition to our rigourous academic program, students can work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as discovering novel inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps as a way to combat multi-drug resistance in bacteria, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings, and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments.

From market research and product design to advertising and sales, marketing is the process of planning and executing the distribution of ideas, goods and services. In marketing, you will learn to identify, understand and satisfy the needs of consumers and organizations. Our curriculum teaches you to see the "big picture" of the overall marketing process while you learn about specialized marketing activities such as advertising, product development and sales.

During the capstone marketing course, you will take an in-depth look at buyer behavior and market research as you design a marketing plan to deliver a product or service effectively and efficiently to the target market for a real organization.

In addition to core marketing classes, electives allow you to specialize in advertising, entrepreneurial marketing, international marketing, Internet marketing, promotion management or retail marketing. And, if you are interested in sales, you can earn an emphasis in sales management or product innovation — offering a highly desirable set of skills.

Our students are taught by an outstanding array of scholar-teachers in areas of inquiry that include American politics, public law, public administration, international relations, comparative politics, public policy, environmental politics, urban politics and political theory.

The UD School of Education and Health Sciences offers 11 undergraduate degree programs and 11 undergraduate certificate, licensure & endorsement programs to help prepare students for careers in education, health, wellness, sport or physical activity. UD SEHS also offers 24 graduate degree programs and 22 graduate certificate, licensure & endorsement programs. As a UD Intervention Specialist major, you will learn skills necessary to teach students with mild to intensive disabilities through coursework in development and content, clinical experiences and community engagement opportunities.  You will gain an understanding of students at various ages and stages of development, and from various cultures, socioeconomic levels, ethnic groups and ranges of abilities.  You will have the opportunity to supplement your teaching license with additional credentials in preschool special needs, urban education, Catholic education, the education of speakers of other languages or specific certification in supporting students with Dyslexia.  A STEM lab and Curriculum Materials Center are among the numerous resources available to you.

Our major combines a biomedical science-focused curriculum, a local or international medical experience, and a self-designed plan of study to include a minor or other courses of interest that prepare our graduates for entry into professional schools.

The science facilities at University of Dayton’s Science Center complex include the latest equipment. As a graduate student, you’ll gain firsthand experience with nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, high pressure liquid chromatography equipment and more. Students may choose to pursue projects in all major chemistry sub-disciplines.

Students with a degree in applied mathematical economics learn to utilize mathematical modeling to analyze problems, which prepares them to pursue a variety of professions in business and economics.
