An appreciation of the principles of chemistry is fundamental to understanding our daily lives and the future of our planet. Chemistry also serves as a foundation not only to industrial careers, but also to careers in the health sciences. The emphasis in all chemistry classes is to provide a thorough understanding of basic chemical concepts and to develop the competence in how to apply these concepts in a logical fashion to solve real world problems. Students can choose among a variety of degree programs designed to meet a range of career goals.

The new Master of Science in Computer Science degree program is built on a 96-year foundation of engineering and computer science at University of the Pacific. The one to two-year program, taught at the iconic ivy-covered campus in Stockton, California, teaches students advanced techniques and best practices of professional research and establishes the intellectual foundations for achieving excellence in the field of computer science. Graduates of the degree program will be prepared to create new technologies and enhance existing systems with a curriculum that dives into machine learning, data science, virtual reality, and more. Whether you are a working adult, a residentially-based undergraduate student, a transfer student, or looking to make a career change into Computer Science, we offer a variety of flexible plans of study to meet many needs.

The organizational leadership degree completion program aims to help students develop a basic understanding of the theories of leadership  and how to best implement changes in order to guide successful organizations. Courses cover topics such as leadership development, project management, communication, public relations, conflict management and social psychology.

This program is gives you the problem?solving, collaboration, communication and leadership skills required to lead organizations. Between your family and your career, we understand your priorities. We have designed degree completion programs to help you finish your degree without sacrificing your personal and professional responsibilities.

That's pretty broad, but so is a physics degree. Physics majors of course most often go into scientific or technical fields (like optics, superconductivity, nanotechnology, new energy methods, etc.), but it is a very flexible degree. Physics majors go on to careers in biology, law, financial firms, teaching, and other areas — basically anywhere there are difficult problems to solve.

As an economics major or minor, you will be taught how to conceptualize your own roles in society, whether acting as an individual, a member of a private-sector firm or as a public servant in the government sector. You will learn how to apply theoretical understanding and analytical skills to a wide variety of issues, problems and policies.

You will graduate ready to put those skills to use across a wide variety of industries working in business, finance, law or for governmental or non-profit agencies in nearly any field.

All of our classes emphasize real-world applications and implications of the material, always making the connection between what you are learning in the classroom and what you will need to be successful in your career and as citizen-leader.

The mission of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology is to prepare reflective speech-language pathologists and audiologists for lifelong success by providing an excellent student-centered experiential learning environment. Our students are mentored in developing leadership, critical thinking skills, and a strong commitment to their profession and society. These efforts are assisted by the department's commitment to professional growth through clinical practice, scholarly activity, and service to the profession and the community. The Music Performance major offers you an opportunity to study the fundamental principles of your chosen instrument through a broad range of pedagogical approaches that culminate in the holistic performance of a broad range of literature. Our faculty are professional musicians and educators experienced in all facets of performance. Students have the opportunity to perform in master classes, solo recitals and in a wide range of ensembles including band, orchestra, jazz, choir, opera, contemporary and chamber music.

Our history program offers range and depth in our course offerings and a chance to study in small classes with engaged professors who love what they do. From the history of food to a close examination of modern Asian societies, the history department offers a wide variety of classes that cover many diverse themes. Some focus on specific time periods, while others take a regional approach. Just as diverse is the array of specialties our faculty members draw from to illuminate historical topics.

Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) in Fall 2021. Open to students with a bachelor’s degree in any major, this unique 9-month plus internship program allows entry-level students to gain experience in the field using the vast industry network of the Eberhardt Career Management Center. The hybrid program blends online learning with on-campus evening classes at Pacific’s Stockton campus. With a curriculum built to align with the International Institute of Business Analytics standards, students will gain the essential skills and knowledge required to be successful leaders of data-informed business strategy.

Music Industry Studies degree at University of the Pacific is the first collegiate program of its kind in the region. It merges practice with theory along with intensive, hands-on training and internships to give students the knowledge and resilience to succeed in the fast-paced environment of the music industry. It was designed to prepare you for success in a variety of 21st century music careers. Plus, you will have access to a host of alumni and music industry executives who know the skills and characteristics they are seeking in future employees.
