Graduates of the business administration program are well prepared to become business professionals who understand the environment in which business operates, and can analyze how business operations are impacted by economic, social, political and legal environments. Graduates of the program are prepared for careers in administration or management of business firms, in banking and insurance, and in federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as a variety of other settings where knowledge of business functions and practices is required. Cybersecurity
The cybersecurity specialization prepares students for entry into professional careers in cybersecurity, information security and security management. The specialization is designed to provide students with a solid foundation of information systems management knowledge coupled with specialized skills in cybersecurity. In addition to learning how to protect valuable information assets for a firm, students will also obtain a broad range of business skills in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. Students in the cybersecurity specialization must maintain a 2.5 GPA in all CMIS courses.

Dance
At SIUE, the dance program cultivates artistry, creativity and critical thinking in a supportive learning environment. The construction management program in the Department of Construction at SIUE blends business and engineering coursework to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary for the multi-faceted aspects of careers in construction management. Students in the School of Engineering study engineering fundamentals and construction management practices and procedures, and integrate a business administration minor to develop a strong foundation that allows them to rapidly advance in the construction industry.

The construction industry is one of the largest components of the U.S. economy, and according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the construction management field is expected to grow 10% through 2028. The scope of construction ranges from single buildings to mega-projects with total costs in the billions of dollars.

Continual changes in the industry require construction professionals with a diverse set of skills and knowledge in business management, engineering principles and construction methods and technology.

The Master of Marketing Research (MMR) program in the School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, and is designed to prepare individuals with diverse backgrounds for careers in marketing research and to meet the needs of business, government or nonprofit organizations for competent marketing research professionals. The MMR program at SIUE consistently boasts 100% job placement within three months of graduation, and 95% of all students receive significant financial assistance, including full tuition waivers.

The MMR graduate will be well prepared to practice marketing research and to make substantial contributions to the marketing research profession. The curriculum combines coursework involving a balance of theoretical studies and applications through projects with emphasis on the role of research and the effectiveness of marketing decisions within organizations. Our graduates have recently gone on to pursue their education at the University of Arizona, University of Colorado Boulder, and University of New Mexico, as well as other quality programs. Some students, finding the rigor of physics excellent preparation for professional schools, pursue advanced education opportunities in medicine or law.

The central objective of the curriculum in the School of Business is to enhance quality and innovation in the analysis, interpretation, and use of information for formulating, communicating and implementing managerial decisions in business organizations. The ethical management of resources in a global environment is emphasized through the curriculum. Required courses in quantitative analysis, and decision making will sharpen the ability of students to apply models and skills, and integrate knowledge across disciplinary areas. Students can select a specialization in business analytics, healthcare administration, management information systems, project management, or a general specialization comprised of four elective courses that will fit their specific career objectives.

The healthcare administration specialization prepares students for effective management in healthcare settings. Due to the diversity of subjects and methods in anthropology, students frequently combine anthropology with other disciplines such as history, sociology, geography, earth science, biology, psychology, medicine, law, and the arts. Statistics is an ideal concentration for those interested in analysis and interpretation of data as a fundamental process in decision-making. Statistics uses the scientific application of mathematics to collect and analyze information in such a way that a conclusion can be developed.

The relevance of statistics cannot be understated, as it touches virtually every career field. Statisticians develop consumer surveys, study purchasing behaviors, measure the cost of living, and analyze market trends for potential business growth.

The environmental sciences undergraduate program, in the College of Arts and Sciences at SIUE, is interdisciplinary, and is designed to cultivate students' perspectives of environmental issues, and to provide them with refined knowledge of environmental issues on a local, regional and global scale. The curriculum within the Department of Environmental Sciences will increase students’ technical competence in addressing these environmental issues, their origins, ramifications and resolutions. The program will promote experiential learning and professional education to prepare students for career opportunities in a wide variety of workplaces.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of environmental scientists and specialists is projected to grow 8% through 2028, which is faster than the average for all occupations in the U.S. Graduates with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with specializations in environmental health, environmental toxicology and environmental management will have career opportunities in their areas of interest. For example, a licensed environmental health practitioner can be employed for inspection, sampling and reporting for sanitary, food safety, sewage and waste disposal, drinking water, pest control, or industrial hygiene.

Environmental Toxicology
The environmental toxicology specialization provides students with the knowledge to work as environmental toxicology specialists, and prepares students for careers in teaching, research or other related professional fields. Environmental toxicology students study toxic pollutants and their effects on the physical and biological environment, such as identifying and investigating potential sources of pollutants in the environment and minimizing their toxic effects on humans and other organisms. Toxic pollutants in the environment include different organic and inorganic chemical compounds, such as pesticides, industrial waste and heavy metals. Occupations that use environmental toxicology include:
