Information Technology
The curriculum is designed to extend and expand the statistical and methodological expertise learned in the traditional sequence of the School's methods and statistical courses.

Learn to investigate, respond to and manage incidents, such as, cyber attacks, data breaches, fraud or financial crimes, and malicious activity.

In the Bachelor of Science in Digital Forensics program at UAlbany you will acquire the skills to gather digital clues in electronic data and connect the dots to build an entire story.

This program prepares you for a career mitigating the risk from threats. Consult with Fortune 500 companies or federal government/law enforcement agencies on forensic technology, cyber risk, regulatory/compliance, and criminal investigations as well as perform cyber intelligence and systems defense related to cyber attacks.

With this degree, you’ll be equipped to spot security breaches, gather electronic evidence (eDiscovery), manage risk and incident response planning and policy, and investigate regulatory compliance issues, criminal activity, and financial fraud.

Curate your expertise on the cultures and histories of Africans and African Americans with a Master of Arts in Africana Studies. UAlbany was the first university to offer an Africana Studies graduate degree and remains one of the few institutions in the nation with an MA program in the field. The Africana Studies MA prepares you for many possible careers, from education to law, and for further study at the doctoral level.

A multi-disciplinary program, the MA in Africana Studies explores topics in politics, culture, history, and social science. Choose one of two concentrations – African Studies or African American Studies – and select from subfields such as psychology and literature to further align your program of study with your interests.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) provides you with a strong foundation in primary public health fields and advanced knowledge in your area of interest. Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, the two-year MPH program includes professional internships that let you directly contribute to the success of public programs that aim to eradicate disease, develop vaccines, reduce infant mortality, ensure food safety, monitor water quality, and more.

Environmental Health
Deepen your knowledge of two relevant scientific fields (choose from chemistry, toxicology, and environmental and occupational health) and learn how to assess environmental quality and solve environmental health problems. Gain lab skills, collect and analyze environmental data, and conduct dose-response and risk assessments.

If you want to become a certified public accountant but didn’t earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting, the 21-month MS in Accounting program at UAlbany can help you achieve your goal.

Designed for students with no prior background in accounting or business, this cohort-based program includes four semesters of full-time study that fulfill the education criteria required to obtain initial licensure as a certified public accountant in New York State. (A part-time option is also available for this program. Full-time requires availability days and evenings, Monday-Friday).

Coursework covers management fundamentals, in-depth study of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and practical training in contemporary accounting software and emerging technologies. Advanced topics include liabilities, assets, and income tax; auditing and internal controls; and budgeting and cost-profit analysis. In your last semester, you complete an academic research seminar.

Printmaking
The Printmaking Program emphasizes artistic innovation and experimentation while offering a thorough grounding in both traditional and contemporary technique. Course offerings include Etching, Silkscreen, Digital Printmaking, Collage, Woodcut, Photopolymer Gravure, Monotype, Artists' Books, and Animation. Printmaking is taught in terms of its relationship to the cultural issues of reproduction, communication, exchange, consumption, rarity, and originality, as well to the practices of drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture. A "print" may be a mixed media work-on-paper; a paper or printed fabric sculpture; a photo-etching created from a digital file, or a wallpaper installation, for example. The technical procedures employed may continue traditions dating to the Renaissance, utilize digital imaging, or combine both approaches in a single printwork.

Public Management
Develop a theoretical and practical understanding of the knowledge and skills you need to be an effective manager in public and nonprofit organizations. To develop specialized skills, you can earn sub-concentrations by taking multiple courses in one or two sub-fields (Local Government Management, Organizational Behavior and Theory, Human Resources Management) or work with your advisor to design your own.

Organizational Behavior & Theory Concentration

• The Organizational Behavior & Theory concentration provides you with the people management skills needed in today’s organizations. The focus is on leadership in teams, groups, and organizations. Courses cover both the process and structure of management and often involve exercises and simulations that practice the skills you need to succeed as a manager.

Local Government Concentration

• The local government management concentration to prepare you for the current and future challenges local governments face. You will learn about real examples of how to manage local governments as well as the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively serve our citizens. Graduates of this concentration have gone on to become professional city, county, town or village managers.

Human Resource Management Concentration
The Human Resources Management curriculum trains you to manage organizations and their employees effectively in the public, private, or non-profit sector.
