Art History Research and Internships

• Build a thorough portfolio of skills and knowledge that will prepare you for a career in the art world, as well as graduate school in art history, visual resources curating and management, other art-related graduate programs, and museum studies. You can incorporate internships into this plan for hands-on professional experience.

Film Studies

• Take advantage of the option to fulfill your art history requirements with coursework in Film Studies. Critical studies courses on film history, theory, criticism, and contemporary film topics can accompany video production courses or other hands-on learning and creative output projects.

Honors Program in Art History

• An Honors Program in Art History allows declared Art History majors who have excelled in at least their first 12 credits of Art History coursework to pursue an advanced program of study and independent research. The Honors program will prepare you for pursuing in-depth graduate work in art history, art conservation, museum studies, or film studies.

Investigate molecular and genetic bases of cellular processes to become equipped for a future in advanced scientific research, or for admission to medical school or a PhD program. The bachelor’s in biochemistry and molecular biology is a research-focused major that prepares you for diverse careers in biotechnology, medicine, pharmaceuticals and engineering.

Get advanced training and experience in the theory and practice of city planning, design, and development in the Master of Regional Planning (MRP) program at the University at Albany.

This program prepares you to assist community leaders, elected officials, and the public with issues of neighborhood change and preservation, environmental conservation, mobility and accessibility, comprehensive planning and zoning. You will also learn about emerging issues, such as how to reimagine community development, ensure equitable planning strategies and understand the impacts of extreme weather.

The BA in Anthropology program features four subfields covering archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistics. A minimum of 36 credits in anthropology are required, including:

• Of the 21 additional credits in anthropology, no more than 6 may be at the 100 level and at least 12 must be at the 300 level or above.

Classes include African and African American Literature, The Economic Structure of the Black Community, The Geography of Africa, and the Psychology of the Black Experience. The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program is a combined major and minor sequence. You can follow one of three tracks:

• General Chemistry
• Chemical Biology
• Forensic Chemistry

Each of these tracks features an honors program option. The chemistry curricula is designed according to American Chemical Society standards, which means you'll study two semesters of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry, along with formal laboratory experience.

The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Management at UAlbany will give you a broad understanding of the relationships between government legislation, public policy, economics, politics, civil rights, regulation and finance, and city, state, federal, and global affairs.

World Affairs
When and how will a policy made in another country have an effect on the rest of the world? The world affairs concentration encourages you to consider the impact of globalization on all societies and the challenges of public administration in countries with different cultures, histories, and political regimes.
