Education - Secondary Physical Sciences
The Secondary Education program prepares students to work in grades 7-12. Graduates of the Secondary Education program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with certification in one subject area (listed below). Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.

Public Health program is a nationally accredited degree program. The program prepares students to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance quality of life for individuals and communities. Public Health educators work in a variety of work settings including nonprofit community health organizations, public health agencies, work site and health promotion programs and schools and voluntary health agencies (American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, etc).  Available courses include:

• Program Planning in Health Education

Some examples include a health educator, health promotion specialist, public or clinical health educator, health information specialist, program director, outreach coordinator, patient or treatment adherence educator, health program manager, community organizer and health intervention specialist.

International Business is a second major and must be combined with another business major.  The major applies the basics taught within the general business school, but in the framework of a global setting. Coursework prepares students for positions of leadership in a dynamic environment of global production, exchange, information and finance. Available courses include:

Career opportunities are available for International Business majors in almost any field. Positions are most common in multinational markets, government agencies and business consulting firms, as well as energy industries and banking.

The Middle Grades Education Program is ideal for students who are eager to work with growing minds and daily changes. When teaching middle grades students, who are discovering who they are and what they want to do with their lives, there is rarely a dull moment in the classroom. The Latin American Studies program is a combination of study and research on Spanish- and Portuguese- speaking countries including Central America, South America and Europe. Students will understand the political, cultural and historical issues of the Latin American culture. Available courses include:

• The History of Gender in Latin America
• Pre-Columbian Civilizations
• Inter-American Relations

The Latin American Studies program promotes and encourages academic works in Latin America. It also encourages travel and exchange with institutions of higher learning in Latin America and Spain. Baylor currently offers study abroad programs to several countries in Latin America: Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Argentina.
