Psychology is the study of mental processes and behavior. As psychology majors (designated as a pre-major), students learn about many diverse concepts including perception, cognition, emotion and personality. Other concepts include behavior, interpersonal relationships and the individual and collective unconscious. Coursework involves the application of learned concepts to spheres of human activity. The Psychology major is available either as a Bachelor of Arts degree or as a Bachelor of Science degree. The Bachelor of Arts degree plan emphasizes the study of humanities in Psychology, while the Bachelor of Science degree plan has a greater emphasis in science and mathematics.

Theatre Arts
The Theatre Arts program provides classroom instruction and experience outside the classroom as well as holistic education of the theatre and allows room for focus in a variety of disciplines. The required hours are ideal for a student desiring to include a minor or secondary major. Courses available include:

The department produces about 8 full productions each year. The productions vary from Shakespeare to pop musicals. All productions are performed in full by theatre students. The majority of sets and scenery are also created by the students. This hands-on experience develops the participants’ skill and experience.

The Theatre Department also offers a summer study abroad program every other year. This programs gives students the opportunity to experience theatre in different cultures. Graduates can choose different routes after the completion of this degree. Some go to graduate school and others go to work in the entertainment industry.

The Classics major is a comprehensive study of ancient Greece and Rome. Consequently, students will have the opportunity to study culture, history and language of Latin and Greek. Students also read ancient writings in their original text. The degree program encourages educational diversity and offers a wide range of electives such as art, history, philosophy and religion. Available courses include:

• Principles of Classical Studies
• Readings from Greek Literature

Religion
The Religion major at Baylor is a combination of Biblical, historical and theological studies. The Biology major is ideal for students wanting to further their education in medicine, ecology, wildlife, genetics or a variety of other areas. The Biology major offers four concentrations: Integrative Biology, Global Health Biology, Science Education and Cell and Molecular Biology. Available courses include:

• Modern Concepts of Bioscience
• Microbiology

The Integrative Biology degree plan introduces students to the wholeness of biology through an integrative perspective. The Global Health degree plan is designed for students with an interest in tropical diseases, their etiology and their control, and offers a wide range of career paths. The Science Education degree plan prepares students to obtain a science education certification. The Cell and Molecular Biology degree plan provides a solid foundation in cellular function and genetic control of biological processes to support exploration of disease etiology.

Education - Secondary Business
The Business for Secondary Education major (designated as a pre-major) is a Bachelor of Business Administration degree designed for students planning to teach business courses at the high school level. Coursework is a combination of the fundamentals of business and education courses.

The Mathematics major involves a variety of mathematical areas, both traditional and contemporary. Math involves learning the terms, methods and formulae and applying the mathematics to solve theoretical and practical problems. Graduates of the program are highly marketable in a range of fields because the program helps them develop problem-solving skills and trains them to think, and argue, logically.  Available courses include:

The BS in Mathematics curriculum provides the student with a basic background in mathematics.  It allows a student to place some emphasis on an area of mathematics that is related to engineering, the biological, physical, or social sciences. The Finance major is the study of the decision-making process involved in managing and acquiring assets to create a profit. It is a pre-major.  The major offers two focuses, Corporate Finance and Investments. Corporate Finance is the study of research and acquisition of assets for companies. The study of Investments includes the valuing of financial securities and corporate and personal portfolio management. Available courses include:

The Risk Management and Insurance major (designated as a pre-major) focuses on identifying financial and economic characteristics of risks to which firms and individuals are exposed and developing effective strategies for managing such risks. Available courses include:

The Health Science Studies major (designated as a pre-major) serves as pre-professional preparation for medical, dental, physical therapy, or other professional graduate programs. The program has a long, successful history with students moving on to medical, dental and physical therapy schools. Many also move on to secondary general science educations. Students are encouraged to volunteer at clinics, hospitals, etc. to gain experience in their field of interest.
