Chemistry
The Chemistry department is one of the select programs nationwide that offers a B.S. that is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and is authorized to offer the certified bachelor's degree in chemistry. The Chemistry Department offers four different Chemistry degree plans in order to provide curriculum to the widest possible range of student career goals. Available courses include:

Environmental Science
The Environmental Science major combines laboratory and field work, internships and classroom study. This program is for students interested in a variety of fields including water resources and air quality, wildlife management and biodiversity conservation, and environmental toxicology and chemistry. Communication Specialist
The Communication Specialist major is a combination of studies in digital media and speech communication. This program of study blends a leadership/management/organizational communication focus with the development of expertise in digital media production. This major is appropriate for students with a wide array of career aspirations but is most appropriate for those intending to take advantage of communication expertise in a corporate career track. Statistics
The Statistics program is designed to provide a balance between statistical theory and applications of statistical methods. It helps students discern how principles are applied to the collection, analysis, presentation and interpretation of data. With an emphasis being placed on acquiring research, consulting and teaching skills, the curriculum is applicable to biomedical, industrial and academic careers. Available courses include:

The Theory major in the School of Music is for students who wish to concentrate their study on the theory of music. Students will conduct research under mentors, faculty members who are active in academic discourse on the national and international level.  Areas of study include:

Astrophysics
Astrophysics is the branch of Astronomy that deals with the physics of space. It includes the physical properties of space objects (like planets, starts, galaxies and comets) as well as their interactions. Astrophysics includes many other disciplines from physics, such as electromagnetism, relativity, mechanics, and atomic and molecular physics. The Astrophysics major is offered as either a Bachelor of Science (BS) or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Available courses include:

Professional Writing and Rhetoric

Marketing
The Marketing major (designated as a pre-major) is a comprehensive study of promoting, pricing and placing a product. Marketing students can choose an emphasis in Sports, Strategy and Sales, Nonprofit and Social Enterprise Marketing or tailor their own marketing emphasis by selecting any three marketing courses beyond what is required.Available courses include:

A degree in Marketing qualifies graduates for many occupations like Sales and Customer Service, Product Management, and Marketing Research. Other students find work in Advertising, Sales Promotion, Event Marketing, and Purchasing.  The marketing department works with students to place them in internships to enhance students' resumes and provide experience in the market place.

Education - Secondary Social Studies
The Secondary Education program prepares students to work in grades 7-12. Graduates of the Secondary Education program earn a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with certification in one subject area (listed below). Supplemental certification may be added in English as a Second Language.
