Education Certification - Physical Education
The Physical Education major prepares students for teaching or coaching grades K-12. This degree program satisfies the requirements for the Texas Teachers Certification and prepares students to teach grades K-12 with an emphasis in coaching in either a private or a public school setting. The Apparel Merchandising program focuses on developing professional skills, such as communication, analytical thinking, teamwork and ethical behavior. Bioinformatics
Baylor's Bioinformatics undergraduate program was one of the first of its kind when it was created. The Bioinformatics major is a combination of computer science, life sciences, mathematics and statistics. The goal of the program is to produce students competent across multiple disciplines. The Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies major is for students preparing for the general career areas of health, fitness, recreation and sports, so it is well suited students unsure of which area they are most interested in pursuing. The program's popular feature is that general electives may also meet entrance requirements for professional schools. This is especially helpful in those instances where Baylor University does not have a pre-professional degree program in the field a student is interested in.  Course available include:

Neuroscience
The Neuroscience major (designated as a pre-major) is the study of the nervous system with a special emphasis on the brain. Neuroscience spans many academic fields, including biology, psychology and chemistry.  Courses develop a thorough understanding of the nervous system, from molecules and genes to behavior and motor skills, and related disorders.  Available courses include:

The Business Fellows program provides a unique opportunity to blend a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with other areas of study. Business Fellows students build their own major, and along with it, their own career path. Each student is assigned a faculty adviser who helps the student map out their post-graduation goals and plans, whether it's a specific career or graduate school.

Anthropology
As a discipline, anthropology studies human diversity across time and space, attempting to understand the human past, present, and future using tools and techniques from various sub-fields like biological anthropology, archaeology, and sociocultural anthropology. It utilizes a comparative approach between people/populations and among different species to understand the forces that have shaped their ways of life.

We aim to educate students to address real-world problems through a combination of classroom learning, seminars and hands-on field and laboratory research opportunities. This can include, for example, examining fossil casts or modern human bones, studying at the zoo or in villages in developing countries, and digging for artifacts in the fields or just facts in the library.Our faculty pursues research in disease diagnostics and other biomarkers, Global and One Health, ecological anthropology, forensic anthropology, fossil excavation, modern Mayan cultures, DNA analyses, GIS, and both historic and prehistoric archaeology. Research sites include Central and Latin America, the Caribbean, West, East, and South Africa, near Eastern Mediterranean, and Texas. All of these projects offer excellent opportunities for students to participate in primary research working alongside their professors.

The department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in computer science. One of the strengths of the computer science program is the balance between theory and practice. Students are well versed in theory and programming while at the same time being exposed to real world situations thereby gaining valuable experience. Available courses include:

Students graduating with a BSCS in Computer Science are schooled in upper-level computer science topics with a solid foundation in mathematics and the sciences. Within the BSCS degree, students select a general computer science or software engineering track. The software engineering track emphasizes the methods used to produce and maintain high-quality software in a systematic, controlled and efficient manner. Students who are acquiring their BA in computer science acquire a traditional liberal arts education with a solid set of core computer science courses.

Communication Specialist
The Communication Specialist major is a combination of studies in digital media and speech communication. This program of study blends a leadership/management/organizational communication focus with the development of expertise in digital media production. This major is appropriate for students with a wide array of career aspirations but is most appropriate for those intending to take advantage of communication expertise in a corporate career track. Asian Studies
The Asian Studies program provides opportunities for study and research of the diverse societies that inhabit the Asian continent. The program takes as its geographical focus the regions of Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific. Interdisciplinary in approach, the program spans the fields of economics, foreign languages, history, political science, sociology and religion, and is dedicated to providing opportunities for foreign study and field experiences.

Through its major, minor and concentration curricula, the Asian Studies program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation to pursue careers in government services, business, and nongovernmental organizations, as well as for further graduate study.
