Health Care
The health care concentration addresses the increasing need of data scientists responsible for gathering, integrating, analyzing and presenting health care data. Some courses are available online. Data science master’s students will learn analytics methods to support clinical decision systems, to improve patients’ outcomes and patients’ experience, and to improve clinical care and costs.

Public Management Concentration
For those who aspire to become city managers, chief administrative officers, department directors, and senior project managers, this concentration focuses on the roles, requirements, challenges, and processes of running a public organization. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to work successfully with professional staff, an elected governing board, consultants, and the public in the implementation of broad policy decisions. Legal issues of interest to public managers are also included.

DePaul’s master’s in Sociology program is designed to expose you to key sociological methods and theory. Sociologists explore areas such as law and society, health care institutions, family life, criminology, urban development, social psychology, sports, education, political and economic behavior, media, culture and the arts.

In the Islamic world studies degree program, you’ll develop an understanding of the diverse Muslim communities and their interconnections by exploring their primary texts, history and cultural traditions. You will study Islam as a worldview, civilization and living reality, and examine global communities as well as regional issues.

As you work towards your Islamic world studies degree, you’ll take courses from various departments, including history, religious studies, political science, international studies, modern languages and women’s and gender studies to help you develop an understanding of the Islamic world from multiple perspectives.

Gain an understanding of the history of philosophy, philosophical issues regarding law, medicine and business, as well as the basic problems posed by diverse thinkers. You will also develop analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills while analyzing both the humanistic and technical features of philosophy.

Regardless of your career goals, a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy will provide you with excellent tools and skills in critical thinking, analyzing content from various perspectives, and verbal and written communication. You will learn to form arguments and take a position on an issue.

In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Sciences programs, your mathematics degree coursework will teach you fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, preparing you for a career in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business.
