As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Diplomacy and Migration
The Diplomacy and Migration concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices--such as mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy and leadership—to the pressing challenges posed by forced migration. Students will have the opportunity to place the study and practice of diplomacy into conversation with the disciplines of history, forced migration studies, human rights law, public health, and international relations.

The Theatre School’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in directing is a high octane three-year program that gives artistically ambitious directors a challenging training ground to develop and explore their artistic vision. Two students are selected to enter the program each year. All MFA Directing students are guaranteed a scholarship, which is renewable all three years.

Our curriculum focuses on marrying skill and imagination with both small seminar and active practicum courses dedicated to expanding our students' directorial toolboxes and inciting their artistry. Our production program challenges student directors to conceive, pitch, design, cast, and rehearse five fully produced projects over three seasons as resident directors in our state-of-the-art facilities.

Our distinguished faculty of working artists provide real world instruction and a direct pipeline to the field. Situated just a short walk or El ride away from some of its most storied theatres, The Theatre School shares a revolving door with the city of Chicago - one of the nation's most vibrant theatre scenes. The artists, leaders, productions, and theatres that our MFA directors come into contact with inspire them while they are in school and launch them when they graduate.

Using data to inform important business decisions and provide real-world solutions for companies of all sizes is critical to companies’ success. Through our Business Analytics MBA concentration, you’ll gain the necessary techniques to turn complex data into solutions for organizations in a wide range of industries.

You’ll be equipped with the tools to understand, manage and communicate analytics from ‘big data’. And you’ll learn about core business functions and master the skills that are at the intersection of business and data-science including:

Through our MS in Environmental Science program, you’ll gain the conservation land management skills and tools necessary to succeed in a wide range of environmentally focused careers.

DePaul’s MBA in Real Estate Finance and Investment will prepare you for leadership in the rapidly changing world of global real estate. Learn how to manage complex real estate transactions by understanding every aspect of the industry, including finance and real estate investing, taxation, development, investment sales and capital market analysis.

Through DePaul’s Data Science program, you’ll develop a deep understanding of computer science, mathematics and information management — the three primary components of the data science profession.

As you work towards your B.S. in Data Science, program coursework will teach you:

• Mathematical foundations in data analysis
• Technical skills for data processing and application development
• Advanced machine learning and statistical modeling techniques
• Analytical and communication skills to explain results in a meaningful way

You’ll take a common core of courses in computer science, programming, mathematics and software during your first two years, after which you will select data science courses with a more narrow focus based on your interests.

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

DePaul’s B.S. in Computer Science program provides essential training in the foundations of computing, data storage and information processing.

As a Computer Science major, you’ll develop a keen understanding of modern computer systems and master your programming and software development skills. You will learn about robotics, computer vision, intelligent systems and gaming, data mining and mobile systems.

The College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) is located on the Loop Campus, in the heart of Chicago’s technology and business districts, providing you many opportunities to work professionally with leading companies in information systems. Many CDM faculty members are working professionals and industry consultants, allowing you to learn firsthand from thought leaders and change-makers.

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) will prepare you for a leadership position within the public sector. You’ll develop the critical management skills you’ll need to succeed in your public service career, including:

Public Management Concentration
For those who aspire to become city managers, chief administrative officers, department directors, and senior project managers, this concentration focuses on the roles, requirements, challenges, and processes of running a public organization. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to work successfully with professional staff, an elected governing board, consultants, and the public in the implementation of broad policy decisions. Legal issues of interest to public managers are also included.
