Our sociology degree program will help you develop the critical thinking skills needed to effectively observe sociological topics and become equipped to conduct sociological research.

We offer combined bachelor’s + master’s degree programs including a combined bachelor’s in Sociology and a master’s in Secondary Education Social Sciences degree. These programs allow you to complete a bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree in as few as five years.

For early career professionals from non-business backgrounds, the MS in Management prepares you to gain a thorough understanding of management theory and techniques. With a master’s in Management from DePaul, you’ll learn to successfully lead, manage and implement change in a wide range of organizations.

The Theatre School’s Arts Leadership program is a two-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree that combines full-time employment at Chicago Shakespeare Theater with full-time coursework at DePaul University. Management, leadership, and cultural decision-making coursework through both The Theatre School and Kellstadt Graduate School of Business is applied and synthesized through the fellowship at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. This rigorous and nationally distinct program is designed to prepare highly skilled leaders in the complex and sophisticated world of the arts.

The data science master’s will provide you with the technical knowledge and advanced computational skills to meet emerging challenges in big data analytics. With on-campus and online classroom learning formats, you can launch a career in data science with extraordinary faculty members—anytime, anywhere. Our online learning program replicates the classroom experience with 100 percent access to software, faculty advisors, career services, and a large network of alumni. Marketing
Some courses are available online. The Marketing concentration is designed for data science master’s students who want to combine strong technical skills in analytics with competency in marketing analytics and customer relationship management. You’ll learn how to extract information from data to support business decision making and marketing decisions.

The Communication and Media program is designed for students interested in multiple fields of communication. As a communication and media major you will acquire the fundamental communication and critical thinking skills needed to enter jobs across the public, private and non-profit sectors.

While pursuing a major in media and communications, you will take courses from a variety of programs in the College of Communication and School of Cinematic Arts, including Digital Cinema, Communication and Technology, Journalism, Organizational Communication, and Public Relations and Advertising.

Whatever your interest—language, literature or the intersection between Italian studies and other disciplines—DePaul’s flexible master’s in Italian provides you with a customizable curriculum to help you develop advanced linguistic and cultural expertise.

Through DePaul’s Data Science program, you’ll develop a deep understanding of computer science, mathematics and information management — the three primary components of the data science profession.

As you work towards your B.S. in Data Science, program coursework will teach you:

• Mathematical foundations in data analysis
• Technical skills for data processing and application development
• Advanced machine learning and statistical modeling techniques

You’ll take a common core of courses in computer science, programming, mathematics and software during your first two years, after which you will select data science courses with a more narrow focus based on your interests.

The industrial design degree program will teach you how to hone your aesthetic design skills in order to develop prototypes for consumer and industrial products. You’ll take technical and mathematics courses from which you will learn analytical competence needed to successfully develop your prototyping ability.

As an Industrial Design major, you will become a member of DePaul’s makerspace community and work alongside award-winning faculty in the Idea Realization Lab (IRL) or IRL2 — DePaul’s interdisciplinary 4,500-square-foot campus makerspaces (located on the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses, respectively). In this community, you will learn to design within the constraints of what is practical and possible through the use of several rapid prototyping technologies.
