The tools and methods of Applied Mathematics are in demand wherever quantitative analysis is used for strategic decision-making. The MS in Applied Mathematics gives you the expertise you need to use those tools and methods in business, industry or government.

Actuarial Science Concentration
The Actuarial Science concentration? caters to career changers as well as students who would like to further their actuarial training. It condenses a comprehensive actuarial curriculum into just two years, with an emphasis on the theory and problem-solving skills that are key to passing actuarial exams, and the computational methods that are sought after in the job market. Most of our graduates get internships and full-time jobs as actuarial analysts in insurance companies and consulting firms.

In the Management Information Systems (MIS) program, you’ll learn both the business and technological foundations of information systems management. DePaul’s undergraduate MIS degree program will prepare you to pursue a variety of careers requiring both business and technological skills.

As you earn your MIS degree, you will

• Acquire a broad understanding of information technologies and the information systems life cycle as they apply to business processes
• Gain the ability to identify organizational data
• design and manipulate databases
• Integrate technical knowledge with an understanding of business operations

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) will prepare you for a leadership position within the public sector. You’ll develop the critical management skills you’ll need to succeed in your public service career, including:

Public Management Concentration
For those who aspire to become city managers, chief administrative officers, department directors, and senior project managers, this concentration focuses on the roles, requirements, challenges, and processes of running a public organization. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to work successfully with professional staff, an elected governing board, consultants, and the public in the implementation of broad policy decisions. Legal issues of interest to public managers are also included.

The MS in Business Information Technology is offered by the College of Computing and Digital Media with some course work taken from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (KGSB). Students gain technology management skills and core business concepts to better serve organizations in information-dependent areas. The program provides a solid base for those interested in moving their career forward through management positions in staff/line functions at various types of organizations.

Study the strategy, execution and valuation of real companies in real time and develop strategic analysis skills. The MBA in Strategy, Execution and Valuation is an innovative program for current professionals seeking high-level positions in corporate management, management consulting, investment banking, private equity and entrepreneurship. You’ll emerge with the highly sought-after ability to connect business strategy, execution, value creation and valuation.

The Master of Science in Film and Television emphasizes technical and creative proficiency in the areas of cinematography, editing, and sound for the screen. This intensive program is designed for students looking to acquire and further professional career skills in film and television. The degree is well-suited for career-changers as well as experienced professionals who want to add new technologies and creative workflows to their expertise.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Critical Ethnic Studies
The Diplomacy and Critical Ethnic Studies concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practice—mediation, conflict resolution and advocacy—on behalf of marginalized communities. Students will have the opportunity to place the study and practice of diplomacy into conversation with the disciplines of critical race theory, ethnic studies, forced migration studies, history, and international studies.

For early career professionals from non-business backgrounds, the MS in Management prepares you to gain a thorough understanding of management theory and techniques. Our Real Estate degree program will prepare you to work and excel in the real estate community at the local and national levels, and to adapt to future changes in the industry.

As a Real Estate major, you’ll strengthen your financial and analytical skills, including risk analysis, portfolio construction and management, cash flow analysis and investment strategy. As you work towards your degree, you’ll gain an understanding of the organizational structure of financial institutions and the impact of financial markets on real estate. You’ll also examine how historical development of real estate impacts present and future development patterns.
