Our Actuarial Science degree program will prepare you to analyze and help organizations manage the financial consequences of risk and uncertainty. You’ll learn to interpret stat?istics to determine probabilities of accidents, sickness, death and/or the loss of property from theft, cybercrime, natural disasters and other phenomena. Graduates will be equipped with the skills necessary to sit for actuary certification exams.

In the program, you’ll use mathematics, statistics and financial theory to study uncertain future events, especially those concerning risk management and insurance. As you work toward your Actuarial Science degree, you’ll also learn to apply the laws of probability and statistics to problems, and calculate the financial costs and benefits of insurance for various individuals. Conferences and networking opportunities hosted by DePaul’s Arditti Center for Risk Management provide you with opportunities to explore real-world risk management issues and make industry contacts.

With our MBA in Accountancy, you’ll gain the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills that are highly sought-after in the accounting field, along with the business acumen to understand complex financial transactions. The MS in Community Psychology has been developed in response to interests expressed by community groups and organizations for assistance in addressing the needs of their most vulnerable members. The program prepares students to work at the master’s level in the field of Community Psychology in a variety of community, government and consulting work settings.

Students will learn how a community-based social justice perspective recognizes inequalities and promotes the exercise of greater power (i.e., access to resources and decision-making) for communities that have been marginalized, and creates ties to advocacy work with oppressed populations. The program leads to an applied, terminal MS degree.

As a German major, you’ll study German and Austrian cultures (authors, musicians, literature), language and notions of German history. German is the most widely spoken first language in the European Union, and German-speaking countries are among the most influential engines driving culture, business and politics today.

The criminology program will prepare you to study the frequency, location and causes of crime. You’ll learn how to collect data, analyze your findings and present policy recommendations. A Bachelor of Arts in criminology will provide you with the analytical, research and organizational skills needed to improve the criminal legal system for both victims and offenders.

You will learn the processes and institutions of the criminal legal system. Explore how law enforcement, courts, corrections and community organizations address crime in society. Through program coursework, you will examine structural challenges, behavior patterns and criminal trends.

The Theatre School’s Arts Leadership program is a two-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree that combines full-time employment at Chicago Shakespeare Theater with full-time coursework at DePaul University. Management, leadership, and cultural decision-making coursework through both The Theatre School and Kellstadt Graduate School of Business is applied and synthesized through the fellowship at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs Concentration
The Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs concentration provides students with a broad perspective on the issues relating to land use, transportation, housing, economic development, and related social problems. It instills an understanding of the institutional and analytical issues affecting units of government, planning agencies, and other urban public service institutions.

The Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) prepares students to ideate, design, implement, and evaluate computer-based technologies so they are useful and usable for end users. This interdisciplinary degree integrates concepts and methods from computer science, graphic design and the social sciences. Drawing upon these concepts and methods, students learn user-centered and participatory design approaches as they create information and communication technologies (ICTs) such as dynamic web sites, mobile apps and desktop applications. Particular emphasis is given to ICT evaluation, exploratory user research, information architecture, interaction design, and prototype development.

The Master of Music in performance degree prepares students for professional music careers in a supportive, collegial environment.  Graduate students study with highly celebrated performers who are committed to teaching excellence.  The graduate performance program consists of applied lessons, ensembles, core studies in music theory/history and research, and related studies.  The Master of Music degree is a two year program.
