The Bachelor of Arts in Data Science program offers a curriculum that focuses on developing analytical and technical skills necessary for analyzing massive amounts of data and extracting information from complex data sources.

As a data science major you will learn how to collect and analyze data, how to determine which tools and techniques are best for data collection and how to design programs in a variety of computer languages involving data processes.

Understand how religion impacts our political and social systems while exploring and analyzing religious dimensions of life and culture. Develop critical thinking and writing skills with a religious studies degree and learn how religion impacts culture, politics, identity and conflict around the world.

You will study traditional areas of sacred texts, myths, rituals, mystical experiences and doctrines, but also the ways in which political, social and economic forces shape these phenomena for religious communities.

The MS in Cybersecurity is intended for students who wish to specialize in the security aspects of the Information Technology field. This program educates professionals for the fast growing and wide ranging information security and cybersecurity markets by providing foundations in the theory of information security as well as knowledge needed to properly design, implement, and manage secured IT infrastructure and risks in an enterprise. Common career areas include Computer Forensics, Incident Response, Network Security Administration, Risk Assessment, and Web Development.

Computer Security
The Computer Security concentration focuses on fundamental security topics that arise in the design, analysis, and implementation of distributed systems. This concentration provides in-depth coverage of the theory and application of identity, authentication, access control, auditing, assessment and prevention of software vulnerabilities, and cryptography, in the context of modern enterprise-scale and web-based systems.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Diplomacy and International Public Service
The Diplomacy and International Public Service concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices to mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy, and leadership within international non-governmental organizations. American Studies majors will examine the breadth and diversity of the American experience. American Studies is an interdisciplinary program that integrates the study of literature, history, geography, media, politics, popular culture, art and religion in order to critically analyze American society, culture, institutions and intellectual traditions.

As an American Studies major, you’ll be encouraged to question what constitutes American culture, and how cultural expressions reflect and reveal American values, beliefs, prejudices, pleasures and perceptions.

American Studies majors will gain competency in American cultural studies by mastering the theoretical and intellectual frameworks of their concentrations and by learning to interpret and analyze primary documents. Software engineering is a discipline concerned with the processes, methodologies, techniques, and tools of developing high-quality software systems in a cost-effective manner. In the Public Relations and Advertising program, you will develop an understanding of public relations and advertising theories and practices. You’ll learn to consider processes, products and effects from multiple perspectives, as well as develop critical thinking skills and your ability to speak and write effectively.

When you pursue a public relations and advertising degree, you may choose to take courses that concentrate on either public relations or advertising. Public relations focuses on maintaining and promoting the image of a company. Advertising focuses on persuading an audience to purchase a product. If you are interested in both fields, you have the option to take courses from both subject areas.
