DePaul's master's program in Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse is Chicago's only graduate program to focus solely on writing, rhetoric, pedagogy, and language. Students build a solid theoretical foundation in rhetoric and discourse, and pair it with hands-on practical training; faculty in the program seek to make you a better writer and teach you exciting new approaches to the history, craft, politics, and practical applications of writing and content. With the option to concentrate on Professional and Digital Writing or Teaching Writing and Language, you'll develop valuable skills for approaching writing and content production in a range of industries and careers.

In the Spanish program, you will study the language, literature and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. More than 40 million native Spanish speakers live in the United States, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish will develop your fluency and communication skills in our interconnected world.

Chicago is a diverse city with numerous Latin American communities. Practice your Spanish while exploring festivals, neighborhoods, restaurants, museums, and other cultural institutions that will allow you to experience firsthand the richness of the Spanish-speaking world.

From health care to academics to sports, the ability to research, analyze and interpret data is invaluable across a range of industries. DePaul’s MS in Applied Statistics not only emphasizes data-analytics skills, but explores how to tackle problems of statistical design, analysis and control. Learn about computation and technologies that play an important role in problem-solving across the job market, including research equipment and software used for data analysis, numerical analysis, simulations and mathematical modeling.

General Applied Statistics Concentration
The General Applied Statistics concentration is designed to provide students with the necessary quantitative background for employment in business, industry, or government, and provides a solid foundation for students interested in pursuing a PhD in applied statistics.?

As a Marketing major at DePaul, you’ll deepen your understanding of how marketing delivers value to customers and businesses. You will develop your skills for analyzing and solving market problems to create and implement marketing strategies.

Choose from one of three concentrations for your bachelor’s degree in Marketing:

• Digital Marketing incorporates the coursework you’ll need to be successful in organizations that emphasize social media, interactive and mobile marketing.

Gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals that govern economic activity. In the Applied Economics MBA program, you’ll study the forces that drive markets and the economics of the decision-making processes of businesses and consumers. You’ll get to hone your problem-solving abilities and have the option of two tracks for further specialization: Applied Microeconomics & Policy Analysis and The Economic Environment.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

The World Language Education (WLE) program integrates education and language courses. Your foreign language education degree will prepare you to teach kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private schools.

As part of this program, you will take language courses from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and education courses from the College of Education. You will earn a BA from the College of Education, and concentrations are offered in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

Health Care Administration Concentration
The Health Care Administration concentration provides students with the managerial and analytical skills necessary to understand and influence the processes through which hospitals, associated health care organizations, and public and private agencies provide health care opportunities to explore the roles of specific nonprofit and governmental health care providers and regulatory agencies.

For early career professionals from non-business backgrounds, the MS in Management prepares you to gain a thorough understanding of management theory and techniques. With a master’s in Management from DePaul, you’ll learn to successfully lead, manage and implement change in a wide range of organizations.
