DePaul’s MS in Applied Statistics not only emphasizes data-analytics skills, but explores how to tackle problems of statistical design, analysis and control. Learn about computation and technologies that play an important role in problem-solving across the job market, including research equipment and software used for data analysis, numerical analysis, simulations and mathematical modeling.

Data Science Concentration
The Data Science concentration is designed to provide students with computational techniques used by statistical researchers and practitioners beyond standard statistical software packages. Students are a rigorous training in mathematical statistics, applied statistics, statistical computing, and data structure. They are also exposed to various applications of current interest. The program prepares students to apply the latest statistical methods, data analytics, data mining, and machine learning to real-world data sets.

The Theatre School’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Acting program is highly truthful, expressive, and physical. Informed by our Chicago roots, we prepare actors to work on stage and screen all over the world.

Students learn from a distinguished faculty of working professionals who possess a wide variety of backgrounds and expertise. Our faculty have developed a powerful curricula that mine a diversity of ideas from Stanislavski, Spolin, Grotowski, Shurtleff, Lessac, Linklater, Yoga, Tai Chi, Feldenkrais® Method, Laban, mask work, and more. Students are inspired through unique points-of-view within a comprehensive progression of acting, movement, and voice and speech curricula.

In the Islamic world studies degree program, you’ll develop an understanding of the diverse Muslim communities and their interconnections by exploring their primary texts, history and cultural traditions. You will study Islam as a worldview, civilization and living reality, and examine global communities as well as regional issues.

As you work towards your Islamic world studies degree, you’ll take courses from various departments, including history, religious studies, political science, international studies, modern languages and women’s and gender studies to help you develop an understanding of the Islamic world from multiple perspectives.

MS in Chemistry prepares you for advanced work in chemistry and biochemistry, and for further graduate study. Through either a thesis or non-thesis degree option, you’ll learn the theory and ethical practice of Chemistry within the scientific method and gain context for appreciating the history of Chemistry in society.

Build upon the laws of nature with DePaul’s MS in Physics, designed for students pursuing doctoral studies as well as practicing scientists and engineers. As a Graphic Design major at DePaul, you will learn to communicate visually by studying foundational, conceptual, creative and technical graphic design principles and then applying them to illustrate real world ideas. Graphic design majors create advertisements, execute interactive and web designs, animate, and create content for social media and film title design.

DePaul’s cutting edge facilities include a graphic design lab for print-based and introductory learning; Mac and PC computer facilities, as well as an interactive design lab; and gallery and critique spaces for displaying student work—both for private class-based reviews and public exhibition.

As a Journalism major at DePaul, you will develop a skill set that prepares you for a career as a multimedia content producer and video storyteller. Because the Journalism field is constantly evolving with the use of new technology, you will learn about industry trends and how to use professional equipment, software and online tools.

Students earning their degree in journalism at DePaul have access to the green screen studio, control room, editing suites and the digital equipment facility. Student journalists also staff our award-winning student media outlets: The DePaulia newspaper, 14 East Magazine, Radio DePaul and the Good Day DePaul news show.

The BA in Journalism degree program is offered at our Loop Campus in downtown Chicago, giving you access to many media outlets and opportunities to meet and work professionally with leading companies in the industry.

DePaul’s master’s in International Public Service (IPS) is designed for students interested in the field of international development and global humanitarian affairs. You’ll gain the skills and expertise to manage, lead and evaluate international projects and organizations.

The MS in Business Information Technology is offered by the College of Computing and Digital Media with some course work taken from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (KGSB). Students gain technology management skills and core business concepts to better serve organizations in information-dependent areas. The program provides a solid base for those interested in moving their career forward through management positions in staff/line functions at various types of organizations.

As a UX Design major, you will learn how to analyze and evaluate existing computer interfaces as well as how to improve the design and development of interfaces for a better user experience. A major in UX Design will teach you to combine design’s technical methods with artistic principles, preparing you for a career in interactive web development.

The User Experience Design program offers concentrations in design and development. The design concentration emphasizes coursework in interaction design as well as strategies for incorporating social computing into websites and mobile applications. The development concentration emphasizes coursework in information technology and interactive scripting.
