Understand how religion impacts our political and social systems while exploring and analyzing religious dimensions of life and culture. Develop critical thinking and writing skills with a religious studies degree and learn how religion impacts culture, politics, identity and conflict around the world.

You will study traditional areas of sacred texts, myths, rituals, mystical experiences and doctrines, but also the ways in which political, social and economic forces shape these phenomena for religious communities.

As part of the Grace School of Applied Diplomacy at DePaul, our Master of Applied Diplomacy program unites traditional and non-traditional approaches to the field of diplomacy. Here, we know that the work of diplomacy is not limited to members of the foreign service, but practiced by members of non-governmental organizations, business people, scientists, and community organizers.

Diplomacy and International Public Service
The Diplomacy and International Public Service concentration provides students with a foundation for applying the tools and understanding of diplomatic practices to mediation, conflict resolution, advocacy, and leadership within international non-governmental organizations. Students will have the opportunity to place the study and practice of diplomacy in conversation with the disciplines of management, ethics, international political economy, public policy, and international relations.

DePaul's Master’s in Artificial Intelligence will prepare you for a successful career in this fast-growing field. You will gain advanced technical skills and a deep understanding of concepts and techniques in artificial intelligence and machine learning to build and support AI empowered systems. Discover how to create complex intelligent systems and integrate AI techniques into existing applications and processes, by exploring relevant technical areas including natural language processing, big data systems, computer vision, image processing, robotics, and cybersecurity.

Biostatics Concentration
The Biostatistics concentration is designed to help students broaden their understanding of how statistics is applied to the biological and medical sciences. Students are introduced to various statistical tests and analysis programs, and through coursework and projects they explore and analyze data as it relates to real-life health issues. The Biostatistics concentration is appropriate for students who are interested in working for pharmaceutical companies, university research groups, and hospitals or health-related industries.

The Master of Science in Film and Television emphasizes technical and creative proficiency in the areas of cinematography, editing, and sound for the screen. This intensive program is designed for students looking to acquire and further professional career skills in film and television. The degree is well-suited for career-changers as well as experienced professionals who want to add new technologies and creative workflows to their expertise.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

In DePaul’s flexible master’s in Writing and Publishing, you have the unique opportunity to study across genres and develop and revise your work under the mentorship of acclaimed authors and poets. Choose from courses in poetry, fiction and non-fiction (travel, magazine, memoir, science writing, personal essay, etc).
