In the Public Relations and Advertising program, you will develop an understanding of public relations and advertising theories and practices. When you pursue a public relations and advertising degree, you may choose to take courses that concentrate on either public relations or advertising. Public relations focuses on maintaining and promoting the image of a company. Advertising focuses on persuading an audience to purchase a product. If you are interested in both fields, you have the option to take courses from both subject areas.

The Master of Science in Film and Television emphasizes technical and creative proficiency in the areas of cinematography, editing, and sound for the screen. This intensive program is designed for students looking to acquire and further professional career skills in film and television. The degree is well-suited for career-changers as well as experienced professionals who want to add new technologies and creative workflows to their expertise.

The criminology program will prepare you to study the frequency, location and causes of crime. You’ll learn how to collect data, analyze your findings and present policy recommendations. A Bachelor of Arts in criminology will provide you with the analytical, research and organizational skills needed to improve the criminal legal system for both victims and offenders.

You will learn the processes and institutions of the criminal legal system. Explore how law enforcement, courts, corrections and community organizations address crime in society. Through program coursework, you will examine structural challenges, behavior patterns and criminal trends.

The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

DePaul’s Game Programming program will teach you the fundamentals and details of programming, with a focus on the interdisciplinary aspects of game development.

Throughout your game development degree coursework, you’ll collaborate on teams with other programmers, artists, game designers, producers, writers and audio designers. Upon completion of the program, you’ll be prepared to work in computer gaming and programming, as well as interactive media fields.
