The Secondary Education program prepares you to teach 9th through 12th grade in a variety of urban and suburban education settings, including public and private high schools. You can graduate with a State of Illinois license to teach designated subject-area content (listed below). The program also provides you an opportunity to receive a Diploma Year Program Award (IB certification) to teach in International Baccalaureate schools world-wide.

As part of the secondary education major, you’ll learn educational theories and effective teaching practices, including how to design and implement curriculum; participate in extensive field experiences at multiple schools, and student-teach for 10 weeks.

Dive into archival research or focus on contemporary Francophone issues. Whatever your passion, explore French language, literature and culture with the flexible MA in French. This degree is ideal for both those who wish to pursue careers in translation, teaching or cultural institutions and for those who are preparing for an academic career.

Our master’s of Occupational Therapy program will prepare you to become an occupational therapist who treats children and adults with various developmental physical, cognitive and psychological conditions. You’ll be trained to work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, clinics and private practice.

With an emphasis of providing care to members of our urban, global environment, this program is rooted in our Catholic, Vincentian mission. Here, Occupational Therapy program students will learn to:

• Advocate for access, inclusion and social justice within health, educational and community settings
• Develop culturally-relevant, occupation-based interventions to improve health and participation within communities
• Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver ethical, effective care

Through our master’s of Occupational Therapy program, your classes will cover four themes:

As a German major, you’ll study German and Austrian cultures (authors, musicians, literature), language and notions of German history. German is the most widely spoken first language in the European Union, and German-speaking countries are among the most influential engines driving culture, business and politics today.

Through your studies, you will learn that the German-speaking world is rich and multifaceted, including the works of Mozart, Goethe, Freud, Kafka and Marx. As a German major, you’ll explore the crucial questions of memory and history particular to the German past. You’ll become equipped with crucial skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, and intercultural communication—providing you with career opportunities around the world.

The Master of Music in performance degree prepares students for professional music careers in a supportive, collegial environment.  Graduate students study with highly celebrated performers who are committed to teaching excellence.  The graduate performance program consists of applied lessons, ensembles, core studies in music theory/history and research, and related studies.  The Master of Music degree is a two year program.

The MS in Community Psychology has been developed in response to interests expressed by community groups and organizations for assistance in addressing the needs of their most vulnerable members. The program prepares students to work at the master’s level in the field of Community Psychology in a variety of community, government and consulting work settings.

Students will learn how a community-based social justice perspective recognizes inequalities and promotes the exercise of greater power (i.e., access to resources and decision-making) for communities that have been marginalized, and creates ties to advocacy work with oppressed populations. The program leads to an applied, terminal MS degree.

DePaul's master's program in Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse is Chicago's only graduate program to focus solely on writing, rhetoric, pedagogy, and language. Students build a solid theoretical foundation in rhetoric and discourse, and pair it with hands-on practical training; faculty in the program seek to make you a better writer and teach you exciting new approaches to the history, craft, politics, and practical applications of writing and content. General Applied Statistics Concentration
The General Applied Statistics concentration is designed to provide students with the necessary quantitative background for employment in business, industry, or government, and provides a solid foundation for students interested in pursuing a PhD in applied statistics.?

The MBA concentration in Marketing Strategy and Planning trains future upper-level managers to master the art of business development and marketing. This concentration puts you on a career track toward positions like chief marketing officer, creative director, senior brand manager and senior product manager.
