The International Business major arms students with the tools to tackle challenges in business while empowering them to contribute and engage in organizations and communities in a global business environment. The Anthropology Department offers an undergraduate program that provides a framework for understanding human cultures and societies through culture, archaeology, adaptation and evolution. The Department prepares students for understanding the past and the present of a rapidly globalizing world by developing knowledge of the national, ethnic and cultural complexities that operate within the contemporary world. Graduates with a major in Anthropology have a knowledge and understanding of the cultures of Western and non-Western peoples, and are qualified to work in local, national, and international agencies, and the corporate world. An undergraduate degree in Anthropology provides the basis for a graduate degree in Anthropology and any of the other social sciences. Students who have graduated with a degree in Anthropology from FAU have also gone on to graduate work in law, medicine, journalism, education and other graduate programs.

The Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology is a rigorous, streamlined, pre-professional program unique in Southeast Florida that will enable students to pursue competitive professional training programs in the health sciences. This program is tailored for students who seek entrance into top-tier schools in the fields of medicine, veterinary science, pharmacology, and more.  

Students pursuing a master’s or a doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, or Psychology, including those at FAU, will also find the B.S. in Medical Biology an attractive path.

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice provides students with knowledge about the nature and causes of crime and delinquency, law and the legal system for juveniles and adults in American society, and the decision processes of criminal justice agencies. A Criminal Justice major is broadly educated within a general education framework in the liberal arts and also provided with courses that directly apply to careers within the criminal and juvenile justice systems and the study of law. The baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice provides the student with a suitable foundation for graduate study in criminal justice, criminology, public administration, and other graduate school programs.

The Bachelor of Arts with Major in Music is a degree that balances a general study of music with elective coursework in the liberal arts and humanities, providing a well-rounded liberal-arts-based educational experience for students wishing to pursue a variety of academic interests.

The major in Interdisciplinary Studies: Social Science was designed for students who wish to study broadly in the social sciences rather than concentrate on a particular discipline. The Health Administration major provides students with a university education that promotes personal and professional growth as well as concentrated awareness of health systems and their effects on society. Flexibility in course selection empowers and encourages students to study in a program that will not only sharpen their analytical skills and expose them to a new way of thinking, but will also develop their leadership skills and reinforce social responsibility as citizens and future health administrators.

The rising cost of healthcare provides a problem with great opportunities for graduates of Health Administration who can demonstrate affective business solutions. Graduates have a choice of working in hospital administration, mental health facilities, medical group practices and many others.

The degree in Health Administration - Bachelor of Health Services (BHS) - offered through the Department of Management at FAU, College of Business, is an Associate Member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration ( AUPHA.org). The program is also fully accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The Master of Science with Major in Computer Engineering (MSCE) prepares students for careers in industry in various positions such as IoT Engineer, Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, Cryptographic Engineer, Network Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, Application Engineer, Wireless Communications Engineer, Digital Design Engineer, and Robotics Engineer. Students in the program build a foundational background in computer architecture and design, software development and computer systems, and are exposed to the latest advances in various areas including embedded systems, structured VLSI design, design of digital systems, cryptography, computer networks, wireless communications, vehicular networks, IoT and smart systems, parallel and distributed systems, medical information systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotics, and signal processing.

The Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering offers an extensive Master of Science degree program in Ocean Engineering with the aim of preparing individuals for engineering challenges to working in the ocean environment.

Specialization in specific Ocean Engineering programs is offered through in-depth studies in the areas of Acoustics, Signal processing, Materials and Corrosion, Marine structures, Marine Hydrodynamics and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles.
