Mathematics Emphasis (Chemistry major - applied)
Sure, two plus two is four. But if you’re here, you’re probably interested in exploring what’s beyond math’s basics. And your options are endless: statistics, calculus, geometry, abstract algebra, topology, differential equations and many more! Dig deeper into the incredible body of knowledge that constitutes mathematics by earning your degree in the field.

Having trouble choosing just one degree? Apply your chemistry knowledge to high-level math courses, creating a unique concentration that will doubly serve you in your field of work.

Our graduates are in demand in every facet of chemistry and biochemistry. And that includes the medical, industrial, governmental, educational and nonprofit sectors. By the way, more than 50 percent of our biochemistry graduates have earned doctorate degrees. So get started with us — choose the degree path that is right for you. Our experienced faculty will cultivate you. The success of our graduates proves that.

There's no capstone required for our biochemistry majors. But most of our students take part in undergraduate research at Lipscomb, at major research universities — or both. It's common for graduates of both of our biochemistry degrees to get into recognized research universities and medical schools across the U.S. Whatever your goals are, we'll help you get there.

We're always looking at what's on the horizon in health care so that you'll be ready to adapt to technological advances in nursing. Our Christ-centered, professional faculty have dedicated their lives to equipping you. You'll get a high quality education in medical surgical courses and all specialty areas including: critical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health and community-based learning. And our graduates are successful — in fact, 100 percent of nurses who graduated from our program are working in their health care careers. Research shows 79.6 percent of employers want BSN-prepared nurses. And lower mortality rates, fewer medication errors and positive outcomes are an outcome of nurses prepared at the baccalaureate level (AACN, Oct. 2017).

So take advantage of the convenience of gaining experience and connections right here in the health care capital of the U.S. “Practice before you practice" in our on-campus, state-of-the-art high fidelity patient simulation lab. You'll be well-prepared when you get the chance to serve on medical mission trips at home and abroad. 

Help others adopt a healthier lifestyle through diet and nutrition. Our accredited undergraduate dietetics program is designed to provide a high-quality education with a Christian perspective.

Take courses from a variety of disciplines to gain a holistic, practical knowledge of dietetics. Learn about where food comes from, how its preparation affects its nutritional value and how it is processed by the human body. Apply your skills in community service and engagement.

Study under passionate faculty who are dedicated to your growth and success. Our program is known for its ability to prepare graduates for graduate study and careers in nutrition and dietetics. Once you earn your degree, you could go on to join 100 percent of your peers who were placed into jobs in the field or accepted into graduate programs following completion of the program.

Now more than ever, there is a need for professionals who are just, wherever they may be.  We know you want to change the world. So we've created a program to help you build a foundation in justice so you can do exactly that. We know legal change is one of the best ways to effect social change, so we'll make sure you gain a strong understanding of America's legal system. Work with a prominent civil rights attorney in Tuskegee, Alabama. You'll visit Washington, D.C. for an introduction of American law. Learn from real-life experiences with an internship. Take a semester abroad. And later, you'll even travel to five European countries as you learn about law in the global community.

Computer technology is at the core of nearly every modern enterprise, so let us help you develop your knowledge. Our expert faculty specialize in different areas of computing and can help you broaden the skills you need to be valuable in any modern workplace.  We'll teach you to study, design, create, utilize, support and manage computer-based systems, software applications and computer hardware. This program is all about all things modern — embedded systems in automobiles, smart homes and even mobile and distributed systems. When you graduate, you’ll be well-connected to the IT industry in Middle Tennessee thanks to our professional connections and the opportunities you take on during your time here.

Want to be a chemist? This path is for you. You'll go beyond the basic principles of chemistry, learning the complex fields of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry. Plus, you'll have special courses designed for research and intensive specialized and integrated labs.
