Pretty deep language for something that absolutely rules daily life (like the fact we walk on the ground rather than float hither and yon). Investigate the principles of physics with a high regard for creation’s God-given wonder, complexity, and amazing power.

Physics teaching majors will receive core and specialized professional education in addition to the general education required of secondary and K-12 teacher education students.

Explore your creative potential by broadening your skills in various art forms. In our studio art program, you’ll be exposed to mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, videography, and printmaking. With a wide range of artistic knowledge, you’ll be prepared to influence and better the world through art.

You’ll learn from faculty who have a wealth of experience in artistic mediums and international exhibitions, in an environment that integrates faith and work. Gain 24/7 access to our studios, meet with exhibiting artists in our on-campus John C. Hutcheson gallery and during master classes, and exhibit your own art at our off-campus, student-run Open gallery in downtown Nashville.

Transform your passion for food and hospitality into a lifelong career. Learn about meal planning and preparation, culinary design and development, safety and service guidelines, and the business management skills to combine it all.

Master the ins and outs of the restaurant industry, from human resources to food production. Our seasoned faculty will develop both your strategic and creative skills and guide you as you explore your career options. Plus, our Christian worldview informs our approach to hospitality — learn how and why food systems management is a form of ministry.  

From this program, you can go on to culinary school, restaurant management and nonprofit management — with a firm foundation in business, since you’ll automatically earn a business minor. Between coursework, faculty mentorship and internship opportunities, you’ll be well-prepared for whatever it is you are called to do.

Our restorative criminal justice major integrates the values of Christ with a deeper knowledge of crime and justice. Let us help you gain a hands-on understanding of restorative approaches to due process. You'll analyze social and psychological theories of crime and society with our expert faculty. You'll learn with incarcerated students in classes at the Tennessee Prison for Women as part of our nationally-recognized Lipscomb Initiative for Education (LIFE).

Let us teach you a holistic approach to achieving accountability and healing relationships. Within our restorative criminal justice major, you'll study criminal justice practices rather than law enforcement implementation. You'll plan ways to positively address harm caused by illegal actions. By the time you graduate, you'll be uniquely prepared for your career or graduate work in many options including law, social work and theology.

Restorative criminal justice holds that "crime" is a violation of human relationships. It believes that all stakeholders (offender, victims, and community) in the offense should have a voice in the process of making things as right as possible.

Restorative criminal justice does not reject punishment but does embrace a holistic approach to achieving accountability. This interdisciplinary major embraces the holistic approach.

Get ready to experience different cultures from the inside out. As the ability to converse in Spanish is increasing in importance in the U.S. and worldwide, it's no secret that with a background in this language, you'll be better equipped for your profession — and for service. While studying here and abroad, you'll learn to think more critically — and to act with compassion. You'll learn to know and care about your neighbor across the street and the one across the world.

Our Spanish Teaching degree combines the best of two worlds: our respected education program and a course of study involving language, geography and literature. We teach our classes in Spanish to prepare you for a career where you, as a teacher, will do the same.

Whether it's your love for theatre, professional ambition, or calling to teach that has brought you here, we will guide you into becoming a well-rounded theatre practitioner committed to artistic and academic excellence. After all, our world needs smart, innovative artists. We start with foundational instruction on all theatrical aspects that streamline into more specific courses each year. We've been doing experiential learning in the sciences since before it was cool. And with guidance from our expert faculty, you'll take advantage of rich opportunities to investigate the basis for life. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.  You won't be alone. Our award-winning teachers - world-respected biomedical research scientists -  will mentor you along the way.

Families are society’s most important institution. However, some families are becoming more complex and vulnerable to environmental and social influences. At Lipscomb, you can learn how to serve these families by better understanding their challenges through the academic field of family science, a discipline becoming increasingly popular with both students and a wide range of organizations, businesses, and service providers who value family-trained professionals.
