The Bachelor of Science degree program in Artificial Intelligence is one of the first degrees of its kind in the country. Students of this program will build the foundational knowledge necessary to design computational systems that exhibit “human-like intelligence” such as the ability to interpret sensory input, learn from experience, understand human language, and support intelligent decision-making. Graduates will have the skill-set necessary to meet industry demand for workers able to contribute to research and development in Artificial Intelligence across all industry sectors. The program begins with introductory courses in programming, computer science, mathematics, and statistics that provide a firm technical foundation. The curriculum then introduces core artificial intelligence concepts and techniques including state-space search, game-playing, machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning with applications to various domains (e.g. computer vision, natural language processing and understanding).

The program is supported by a cutting-edge learning and design center which will provide students and faculty with state-of-the-art technologies, tools, and systems to support learning and research. This center will provide students with the opportunity to develop research projects and prototypes with the same big data and artificial intelligence platforms used in cutting-edge industry applications.

The Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics (BSDA) will prepare students for the growing demand in industries for data-literate professionals who can understand and perform data analytics and apply the knowledge in decision-making in various practical fields. In addition to the common core curriculum, the upper-division coursework innovatively consists of the following modules:

• Foundational Module: programming in Python, Data Analytics with Excel, R, and Python, Data Structures and Algorithms
• Core Module: Database Management, Data Visualization, Advanced Statistics, Data Mining and Business Intelligence, Machine Leaning, Intro to AI
• Applied Module: Data Analytics Ethics, Intro to Fintech, Intro to Modern Cryptography, Computational Genomics, Deep Learning, and Capstone Project
• Elective Module: elective courses can be taken in other programs such as Accounting, Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Computer Science, Digital Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Fashion Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, and Sports Management

The BSDA is a STEM designated degree program. The core faculty in the program all hold their Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Economics, or Operation Research from top-tier research universities, with extensive industry and research experience at Amazon, National Science Foundation, the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, and Wall Street and Main Street firms.

In today's fiercely competitive global economy, sophisticated marketing is often the key to the survival and continued growth of any business organization. The degree equips students to make strategic decisions regarding product design, product portfolio, distribution, pricing, advertising and promotion, sales, customer service, digital marketing, branding and licensing and other elements of the ever-changing marketing landscape.

The College of Management at LIU Post is known for its distinguished professors, state-of-the-art facilities and strong network of successful alumni. Marketing majors take classes in a technologically advanced academic environment. The Sports Management program trains students in all aspects of sports management and places them at the doorstep of the most successful and lucrative businesses in the sports world. Students will study a variety of disciplines, including business, marketing, communications and management, and will gain industry-specific skills, such as representation, administration, branding, event planning, and public relations.

Few art forms are as expressive and personal as dance – and few have the same power to inspire, delight, and communicate across cultures. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Studies at LIU Post is an excellent foundation for a career in dance performance, dance education or dance criticism. A pre-professional, process-based and performance-oriented program, this 120-credit degree explores the wide variety of roles for dance professionals and surveys the world’s great dance traditions, from African and Asian dance to modern, jazz, ballet and tap. Combining advanced education in dance and theatrical production with opportunities to develop specific skills through training and sustained practice, all in the context of a strong liberal arts program, the B.F.A. in Dance Studies teaches the art form and not just technique.

The 120-credit B.S. in Health Sciences is a science-based major designed for freshman and transfer students who aspire to careers in a variety of health-related fields, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, pharmacy, physician assistant, medical imaging or health information management.

Economics is a subject area that impacts every industry, culture, and individual. It focuses on how people, groups, corporations, and countries attempt to allocate limited resources to satisfy humanity’s needs for money, goods, and services.

As an economics major, you will learn how to create plans to forecast and address societal issues such as unemployment, inflation and environmental maintenance. Cutting-edge courses teach you the latest strategies and resources in economics, including microeconomic analysis, statistics and business trends in marketing, finance, information technologies, money and banking, public finance and taxation, economics and the law, government spending, and labor management.

The Department of Health and Human Services is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Students benefit from classroom instruction led by faculty who are locally and nationally recognized for their scholarly contributions to social justice and improving the human condition. Hands-on internships and fieldwork opportunities in varied settings are also available, including schools, homeless shelters, child and family counseling centers, charitable organizations, senior citizen facilities, and social service agencies. 

Clinical Laboratory Scientists are highly skilled professionals who are qualified by passing the national certification examination and licensed by NY State to work in a several departments of a clinical laboratory including hematology, microbiology, immunohematology, chemistry, immunology and molecular diagnostics (CLS generalist). They play a key role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and illnesses. Using sophisticated laboratory analyzers, CLS generalists perform tests and analyze cells, blood and other body fluids to detect abnormalities. They are a vital source of diagnostic information to doctors who use the test results to determine and monitor a course of treatment for patients.

The B.S. CLS program and the corresponding MS CLS program, are accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS, 5600 N. River Rd., Suite 720, Rosemont, IL, 60018-5119; 773.714.8880; [email protected]), which is the national accrediting body for CLS programs. The goals of the programs are to exceed the NAACLS specified benchmarks for certification exam pass rate, graduation rate and employment rate. This program integrates a complex level of didactic theoretical and technical instruction. Following successful completion of the CLS didactic courses, students are selected for the practicum by competitively placement into clinical sites contracted with LIU Post- a list of the sites is shown below. Students successfully completing the practicum are eligible to take the ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) national certification examinations for a CLS generalist. Certification is necessary for employment nation-wide and is required for licensure in New York State. Conferral of the B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science degree is not contingent upon passing a certification or licensure exam.
