Viola
You will join a tight-knit community of artists who are perfecting their craft. Through personal attention and mentorship from Hartt’s accomplished faculty members, you will develop innovative ideas and career ready skills.

Exercise Science
The Exercise Science program combines classroom, laboratory and internship experiences that will give you a comprehensive understanding of physical health, fitness and human performance. You will learn how to recognize and assess metabolic/physical, cardiovascular and pulmonary functions, and design and implement treatment plans for clients that improve their physical fitness and health.

You’ll also participate in internships designed to promote career readiness or preparation for graduate education in areas such as sports medicine, strength and conditioning, personal training and clinical research. As a UHart student, you’ll have opportunities to work with the University’s Division I athletic teams in these internships.

Music Education: Research Emphasis
The Research emphasis prepares the student for further investigative research in music education and provides a foundation for future DMA or PhD studies. A thesis is required as part of the research emphasis.

International Studies

At UHart, the world can be your classroom! Seventy-five percent of our international studies student study abroad for a semester, a year, or during our Winterterm or Summerterm.

You can concentrate in either global security or global development, and consider a double major in politics and government, economics, or modern languages and cultures.

If you are interested in a careers in government, business, education, the nonprofit sector, or certain areas of law, the international studies program gives you a solid foundation. It also is appropriate to prepare for graduate studies in a variety of fields.

Philosophy
Our philosophy program is excellent preparation for a career in business, education, law, public service, management, and medicine, or for graduate school. You gain extensive training in logic, critical analysis, and creative problem solving, while having the flexibility to customize independent study courses based on your own interests and career goals.

The philosophy program also offers a Concentration in Philosophy and Social Justice. This dynamic and interdisciplinary program allows you to count courses from the Africana Studies, Environmental Studies, and Gender and Sexuality Studies minors toward a philosophy degree. The curriculum synthesizes applied and theoretical frameworks for social justice. You will learn about the causes of inequality and injustice, as well as how to apply moral and political philosophy to these issues.
