Actor Training
The actor training major challenges you to expand both your craft and your creative imagination so that you can be successful in a broad range of theatrical styles from the contemporary to the classical. A carefully planned progression of acting, voice and speech, and movement classes stimulates your talent and builds the capacity to be bold and innovative. Fourth-year actor training students audition for roles in the Hartford Stage Company’s season, including its annual production of A Christmas Carol.

Music Theory
The Master of Music (MM) degree in music theory is designed to prepare students for a teaching or research career in music theory. Applicants to the program usually have an undergraduate degree in music theory or its equivalent. Graduate music theory majors follow a four-semester curriculum of 36 credits. It includes instruction in modern analysis, Schenkerian analysis, history of music theory, and seminars in music theory and music history. An important feature of the curriculum is the flexibility in elective course work appropriate to the interests and needs of the student.

Electromechanical Engineering Technology

Explore the technical side of engineering through the CEET program. Expand your skills through and design the program for your goals and interest through various coursework and five technical specialty electives. With this flexibility, you have the choice to advance programming skills or expand knowledge in areas like data acquisition and automated systems. You will also be trained to use industry-standard technology and software, to be well-prepared to start working full time after completing the program.

Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies
If you’re interested in educational and/or career goals and objectives that are not met specifically by one of the school’s traditional majors, the Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies program may be an option for you.

This type of major is considered an individualized education plan and may involve educational experiences in more than one school or college of the University. Contracts that involve advanced or specialized courses from more than one college are considered cross-college contract programs and must have the explicit approval of both schools or colleges. You may have the opportunity to take courses within business and communications, for example. You will have an opportunity to follow the common first year and second year as other engineering programs do.
