Architectural Design AndTechnology
The Architectural Design + Technology (AD+T) program is a rigorous academic program that prepares you for a variety of careers in architecture and the construction industry. The focus of the program is the design studio in which the technical, structural, and liberal arts courses are integrated through the creative process in the design of progressively more complex architectural projects. A strong component of liberal arts, with particular emphasis on communications skills, as well as multiple electives in the later years, ensures that students who pursue this program will have a challenging architectural education that prepares you for your career path. You will gain a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills necessary for entry into architecture firms or the building industries or to pursue advanced degrees in architecture and related disciplines.

Our Master of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP) program gives you a theoretical framework in organizational behavior and the opportunity to improve your skills in research design, data collection and analysis, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal, group, and organizational issues.

The integration of theory and practice in our MSOP program prepares you to lead, manage, and/or consult with dynamic and diverse organizations operating in a global environment. Courses are taken in the Department of Psychology, School of Communication, and Barney School of Business, students develop unique analytical skills and accumulate knowledge from the differing perspectives of these schools of thought. The variety of electives offered, including courses in Education and Nursing, enables you to tailor your graduate experience to your  individual and professional needs.

Our philosophy regarding percussion education is to be as all-inclusive as possible. As a Hartt student, you will typically study solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire, as well as improvisation, drum-set, and percussion instruments from other cultures (particularly from Africa, the Middle East, Cuba, Brazil, and Trinidad). We routinely hire guest teachers with focused areas of expertise in order to compliment our more traditional offerings. As a result, Hartt percussion alumni have been very successful in finding a variety of jobs throughout the country.

With an average enrollment of about 15 students, the Hartt percussion program fosters a healthy exchange of ideas and perspectives among the students and allows for personalized attention from the percussion faculty. The teaching/learning experience extends beyond the boundaries of applied lessons, as the Hartt percussion faculty employs an "open door" policy with the students--we are here to serve you.

The Hartt percussion program enjoys a rich tradition of excellence and diversity dating back more than fifty years, distinguishing The Hartt School as having one of the first percussion programs and percussion ensembles in the country. Founded and directed by Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame member Alexander Lepak from 1947-91, the Hartt percussion program has been directed by Benjamin Toth since 1992.

Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Master of Engineering (MEng) in electrical and computer engineering program emphasizes applied design and stresses the development of oral, visual, and written communication skills in these engineering areas to enable individuals to advance in their careers. Multimedia Web Design and Development

The Multimedia Web Design and Development (MWDD) program is where you learn how to build and design websites that are innovative, attractive, and easy to use, and create motion graphics, animation, and multimedia content for mobile applications and computer games. Our small class sizes give you the chance to really get to know your professors. You can count on them to give you academic advice, as well as access to internship opportunities.
The MWDD major gives you great flexibility with unrestricted electives allowing you to incorporate your outside interests and goals into the major. You take classes in communication, computer science, and layout design

Instrumental Performance - Guitar
In 1968, Hartt graduated its first guitar major and over the years the program has expanded to offer a Master of Music, Graduate Professional Diploma, Doctor of Musical Arts, and Artist Diploma.

At Hartt, you will participate in masterclasses given by world renowned performers. Past guest artists include Oscar Ghiglia, Antigoni Goni, and Andrew York.

Our graduates presently hold or have held guitar positions at various prestigious institutions, including New England Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, The Longy School of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory.

Our alumni and present students have won or been finalists in the Alirio Diaz International Guitar Competition in Venezuela, Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition, American String Teachers Competition, MTNA competition, and Appalachian State Guitar Competition.

Robotics Engineering
This program will prepare you to fulfill the growing and expected demands for entry-level careers in robotics. Dive into a hands-on experience around robotics principals, designs, and operation. Students in this program will especially benefit from the laboratories in CETA, including two new robotics labs.

Robotics is the discipline that combines computer, electrical, mechanical, sensing, and computer science in real time. It plays a role in nearly every aspect of our lives, and we can see its applications in automation, manufacturing, the defense industry, commerce—like Amazon—and the healthcare industry to mention a few.

Entrepreneurial Studies
This interdisciplinary major gives you a background in many disciplines, including marketing, finance, accounting, and law. You will graduate with understanding of all aspects of business.

Gain hands-on experience by providing resources, training, and support to a local micro-business. You will complete a professional business plan to use to start your own venture. You may also choose to enter our annual Business Plan Competition. Our faculty advisors will help you every step of the way.

Mechanical Engineering

This diverse program encompasses key aspects of engineering that deal with the application of mechanics to the design of machines. Pursue careers in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or power-generation, as well as those focused on noise control, mechatronics, and biomedical applications. Select one of six concentrations to expand your knowledge in a niche area to bring to the field, including acoustics, computational, energy engineering and sustainability, manufacturing, robotics, and turbomachinery are available.
