Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Master of Science (MS) in electrical and computer engineering program is a research-oriented program that focuses on the advancement of the fundamental body of knowledge in electrical and computer engineering while also fostering the development of skills in design and analysis. This program lets you study an area of interest as part of a graduate thesis. Work towards solving a contemporary problem and become a technical expert. This program is also ideal for those who endeavor to eventually pursue their doctoral degree in an area within engineering.

Illustration
Its rigors emphasize conceptual problem-solving, technical expertise, meeting deadlines, and other professional practices. We stress drawing knowledge and skill as the basis for all visual conceptualization. This is applied to both traditional and digital mediums.

We’ll sharpen your professional standards through sophomore and junior reviews. Our program prepares you to work at a professional level, with a comprehensive understanding of illustration and the ability to merge your client’s needs with your personal style.

Electrical Engineering

The electrical engineering program covers a branch of engineering concerned with generating, distributing, processing, coding, transmitting, receiving, and deciphering electrical and electromagnetic signals.

Electrical engineering involves the study and application of electricity and electronics. It consists of a wide range of fields including electronic circuits, digital computing, robotics, sensors and instrumentation, electrical power, telecommunications, photonics, control systems, wireless communications, signal processing, and integrated circuits. BSEE graduates may obtain a professional license as a professional engineer (PE).

Politics and Government
If you are planning a career in law, government, the civil services, politics, journalism, or the nonprofit sector, or policy analysis, our politics and government program gives you the opportunity to explore your interests and get hands-on experience before you graduate.
Politics and government is the study of policy, government, and law giving you an understanding about the processes by which power, authority, influence, control, freedom, wealth, and other political resources are competitively pursued, captured, and distributed. You also study how these become public policies, part of government, and the law.

Our economics program prepares you for a wide variety of careers in governmental and nonprofit organizations, business, law, public administration, and foreign services.

Ballet Pedagogy
The ballet pedagogy emphasis is designed to prepare students for a career in dance education at the highest level. Students are trained to teach ballet to all ages in professional school and university dance programs. This major strongly emphasizes pedagogical structure and theory, covering different styles and schools of ballet and modern dance, from the earliest pre-ballet to coaching the advanced dancer. This emphasis incorporates classroom teaching and internships in both The Hartt School Community Division's dance classes and in area public schools. Students in the pedagogy program participate fully in the many performance opportunities available to Hartt's dancers. This program offers future dance teachers the opportunity to develop their ability to function as engaged and educated citizens throughout their careers.

Harp
Harp Ensemble, Repertoire and Studio Class and Harp Teaching Principles are just a few of the courses that harpists at Hartt partake in and enjoy. Orchestral and solo opportunities are many at Hartt, with monthly opportunities to perform solos or chamber music in the Evening with Guitar and Harp concert series. Hartt harpists are encouraged to partake in as many performance, competition and growth opportunities as possible, both in school, and in the vibrant capital region of Hartford.

Cinema
You have the opportunity to study film as a literary art form and learn production skills to create your own movie.   Here you can take advantage of opportunities to study film during a semester abroad or get additional experience through an internship at a production company in Connecticut, New York, or Boston.

Our alumni have gone to work at television networks and film production companies as directors, producers, and as directors of international film festivals.
