The communication major at Tiffin University prepares you by teaching excellent public and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of communication.

TU’s esports management concentration deliberately focuses on providing students with a broad base of experience, real-world skills, and knowledge to manage teams, tournaments and gaming conventions. Students will explore the culture, history, and emergence of competitive video game play. Classes will focus on central concepts in competitive video game play and identify the major developments in the business and media surrounding esports. Students will learn the complexities involved in understanding the dynamics of the esports industry and all of its stakeholders, from gamers to billion-dollar media companies. Students will also learn to navigate the structure of esports leagues, teams, players, gaming publishers, tournament operators, media and affiliate organizations. Relevant projects, market analysis and critical thinking will be utilized to understand management approaches that have succeeded and failed with recent esports ventures.

In TU’s public history program, students will develop primary and secondary research to interpret historical events, critique information about the diverse human condition and identify assumptions and evidence, to resolve problems in a diverse global environment. Public history places a focus on how to communicate this information, through written and visual design.

The public history program links historical knowledge to professional practice, as all students will be able to work in various applied history professions, including historical consultants, museum professionals, government historians, archivists, oral historians, cultural resource managers, curators, film and media producers, historical interpreters, historic preservationists, policy advisers, local historians and community historical activists.

Experience and access to sport professionals around the country is what differentiates the TU’s MBA sports management program from traditional sport management degrees. The program is designed to maximize convenience while providing the necessary structure to enhance students’ marketability in the industry. Our extensive list of successful graduates helps students complete a 200-hour mentorship to intensify their education through practical experience with sport franchises, athletic departments, organizations, agencies and facilities with a connection to Tiffin University.

If in-depth, intense study of physical evidence is your calling, then the criminalistics program at TU is for you. We provide a solid foundation for your future in local, state and federal police departments, as well as private investigative services.

Our criminalistics program combines classroom teaching with a unique progression that advances your experience from the crime scene to the courtroom. It’s intense but rewarding and teaches skills you can apply in many ways in public and private sector jobs. It’s also flexible, with online classes starting in January, March, May, July, August and October to accommodate our students’ busy schedules. As with our other criminal justice degree programs, there are no application fees and we accept transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions.

TU’s MBA forensics and fraud examination concentration prepares students for the field of forensic accounting, fraud and criminal justice to achieve positions within auditing firms, in forensic accounting, fraud examination, litigation support, internal auditing, external auditing and criminal justice financial investigation upon graduation.

Classes will cover fraud, white collar crimes and ethical standards, as identified by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Students will be able identify fraudulent activities that include tax fraud and money laundering and will be able to plan a financial fraud examination, identify appropriate documentation and write the fraud examination report.

TU’s MBA forensics and fraud examination concentration also prepares students for the Certified Fraud Examiner’s Exam (CFE) upon completion of the courses. It also allows accounting students to meet the required 150 college credit hour requirement (as some states require) to pursue the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Exam. TU’s forensics and fraud examination concentration is one of only a few universities who offer actual preparation for the CFE Exam by exclusively using the ACFE manual for the Certified Fraud Examination, according to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
