Students in this program have the opportunity to work on individual and team projects that include game design, cell phone apps, web applications, visualizations and more. Students in the computer science undergraduate and graduate programs benefit from small classes and an active Computer Science Club, a student organization that hosts weekly seminars, study sessions and many other activities.

TROY’s undergraduate curriculum is centered in the latest technological advances taught by a caring and highly qualified faculty. Students work on individual and team projects, focusing on game design, cell phone apps, web applications, visualization, Teensy Board Programming and database accessing applications to name a few.

The Troy University School of Accountancy is committed to providing students the accounting education required to enter the accounting profession and to pursue a successful professional career. The Troy University School of Accountancy offers an undergraduate accounting curriculum that provides the foundation for entering the accounting profession in the public, private, or governmental area. An undergraduate degree in accounting will also give you a strong foundation in business-related topics such as marketing, finance, and management. Earning your degree in Accounting gives you flexibility in choosing employment or furthering your education. If you choose immediate employment, you will have the skills to obtain an entry-level position in a public, private, or governmental entity. If you choose to further your education, you will have the coursework necessary to enter graduate programs in accounting such as the Master of Accountancy. As a TROY student, you will have an opportunity to seek a paid internship at one of the many local, regional and national firms or private company businesses and governmental agencies that recruit students from Troy University. The internships generally begin in January and last approximately three months. Importantly, the internship program is part of the accounting curriculum, so participation in the internship program does not delay graduation.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in the recruiting activities sponsored by the School of Accountancy. Our annual Accountancy Day and Meet-the-Firms events provide networking opportunities with Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firms as well as governmental agencies and private company industry representatives. You will have the opportunity to enhance your interview skills through workshops co-sponsored with the Alabama Society of CPAs, Becker CPA Review, and ITAC Solutions. As a TROY student, you may also join the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)—one of the most prestigious professional organizations in the United States—as well as the Alabama Society of CPAs.

TROY's biomedical sciences courses are both challenging and rewarding. By the time you obtain your master's degree in biomedical sciences, you'll be able to confidently take the next step in your training, whether it's at a medical school or another professional school with health sciences offerings. You'll be an ethical problem solver who stays technologically current within the fields of biomedical science and healthcare.

The interdisciplinary studies program lets you build your degree program based on your individual career goals and skill set. Within this program, you’ll complete your general studies courses and select three academic minors that will hone your skills across a broad spectrum of topics and specializations. This course load will be rounded off with any unrestricted electives you choose to complete the minimum 120 hours course requirement. The Master of Science Graduate Program in Environmental and Biological Sciences is designed to broaden the student's perspective and provide skills and knowledge for understanding and solving problems in the environmental and biological sciences. The program teaches students the direct and indirect economic, social, and political contributions of the environmental and biological sciences. The program underscores the interdisciplinary and cooperative nature of environmental and biological issues. This program teaches students how to manage conflicts and emphasizes the importance of effectively communicating with the private and public sectors, regulatory agencies, interest groups, and communities. The Program objectives are listed below:

• To demonstrate the pivotal role of the environmental and biological sciences in understanding and addressing environmental, ecological, medical, agricultural and policy-related issues.
• To promote the professional development of students for entry and advancement in the private and public sectors as scientists, educators, administrators or managers.
• To provide students with the necessary skills for performing research, reviewing and evaluating regulatory guidelines and writing professional documents.
• To foster an understanding and appreciation of the role of values and ethics in research, management and institutional performance.
• To strengthen the academic foundations of students seeking entry into professional schools and into doctoral programs at graduate schools.
• To provide teachers with opportunities for advancement and to broaden and update their knowledge in order to enrich the classroom experience of their students.

Economic issues are everywhere. The study of economics explores the choices individuals make when faced with scarcity. The study of economics can be applied to any facet of life. Why are some countries rich and others poor? Why is Social Security short on funding? Why do men and women earn different incomes? Economics addresses these questions.

Many great internship opportunities exist within the field of economics. The Division of Economics and Finance works with several organizations such as the American Institute for Economic Research, the American Enterprise Institute, the Cato Institute, the Institute for Humane Studies, the Institute for Justice and the Tax Foundation to offer great internship opportunities to students pursuing degrees in economics.

The Division of Economics and Finance is also home to the Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy. The Johnson Center provides a dynamic and rigorous education program focused on the imperatives of free markets and individual liberty as well as relevant policy research on current and local issues. Students interested in the free enterprise system will enjoy the programs offered by the Johnson Center.

Students with a background in economics will find employment opportunities in both the private and public sectors. Entry level positions in the private sector include marketing research, management consulting, banking, investing and insurance. Government positions include economic forecasting, public policy/legislation analysis and economic impact studies.

Students may also choose to pursue a graduate education. An undergraduate degree in economics is an excellent foundation for graduate study in economics, business, law or public policy.

TROY’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in global business and a concentration in risk management and insurance highlights the importance of risk management within the context of a global business framework. Our program will offer you opportunities to obtain proficiency in risk management and insurance concepts as they are applied to servicing both commercial and personal insurance needs.

As a RMI student, you’ll gain industry-specific knowledge that will make you marketable and well-qualified for jobs in this industry. Our coursework is closely aligned with both the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designations. You’ll be able to work toward these and other designations while at TROY. Behind the scenes, our seasoned and experienced faculty work with many different organizations to find our students scholarships and internships that provide a valuable way for them to gain experience and learn about different job opportunities.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is the standard, comprehensive and professional degree for those who wish to enter the market as studio professionals or enter into a graduate studio program.

Students are given four options to emphasize in this highly rigorous program of study: 2D, 3D, Photography and Digital Studio. The BFA program requires admission through an interview and portfolio review process as the expectations for this academic and career path is considered highly exceptional in studio practice.

Studio art encompasses visual art such as photographs, paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and ceramics. Earning a studio arts degree from Troy University gives you access to an innovative curriculum, skilled and knowledgeable faculty and a focus of your choosing. Concentrations are offered in 2D, 3D, photography and/or digital studio.

Within the bachelor of studio arts program at TROY, you will be introduced to desktop graphic applications, emerging technological advancements in art and design and principles of two-, three- and four-dimensional space and drawing. You will also examine the development of art from pre-history to the Gothic period focusing on the various social and cultural factors that determine the uses and appearance of art at different times.
