Exercise science is an interdisciplinary field focused on the study of maintaining and improving the health of patients and clients across the age spectrum. The Exercise Science for Health Professions Program is designed to prepare undergraduate students for entry into a wide variety of disciplines, particularly health professions graduate programs.

The interdisciplinary nature of the program provides a variety of pathways for exercise science students after earning their undergraduate degree. Our curriculum places a high emphas is on comprehensive biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and anatomy courses, giving students the foundational knowledge required to excel at the graduate level in healthcare professions.

This option consists of four years at the University of Findlay and is completed with the awarding of a bachelor's degree. It's a program developed in consultation with representatives from veterinary schools who stress the need for both strong academic preparation and practical animal contact for veterinary candidates. Two special seminars provide orientation to the various fields of veterinary medicine and facilitate application to veterinary schools.

Observing at Findlay’s equine hospital (board-certified equine surgeon on staff). The University Equine Veterinary Services, Inc. (located at our English riding facility)offers emergency and routine medical and surgical services for Findlay's animal herds and animals belonging to the general public.

Our program provides students with the medical knowledge, technical skills, and experience in a variety of didactic and clinical settings necessary for them to become ethical, competent, and compassionate health care providers as part of a health care team.

While technology evolves at a rapid pace, the journalism and digital media fields have never been more exciting! It's more important now than ever to be able to communicate quickly and effectively on multiple media platforms. As a journalism/digital media major, you will gain a well-rounded skill set that will allow you to work in a variety of settings.

The journalism/digital media program at the University of Findlay is designed to prepare students to become successful reporters, writers, content developers, storytellers and overall strong communicators. HR management students learn additional aspects that are crucial to being effective in the human resources field such as the "stakeholder concept" which enables you to make informed decisions that are moral and ethical and relate to the corporate atmosphere.

A major in wellness and health promotion consists of an interdisciplinary program of study in which students will implement health assessments and wellness programs during internships. The degree endeavors to promote scholarly inquiry and cultivate professionals capable of assisting others in developing self-responsibility for their own health and wellness through healthy, active lifestyles. Completion of this degree prepares students for employment in corporate, clinical, or community wellness settings or for the pursuit of graduate study.

There is a growing need for health professionals who can provide wellness information and exercise instruction to promote a healthier lifestyle. Additionally, there is a need for trained exercise professionals to accommodate the growing number of both adults and children participating in sports and exercise programs.

Health promotion and wellness program supervision is necessary to ensure that injury does not develop and exercise programs are introduced safely.
