Our courses offer comprehensive coverage of fundamental principles such as nutrition, breeding, physiology and marketing into complete production and management programs. The structure of industry, enterprise establishment, system of production, production practices, selection criteria and improvement programs are also addressed. 

Informatics is the science of processing data for storage and retrieval. Everyday we benefit from the outcomes of informatics. Have you ever received an alert on your cell phone as you drive past your favorite store? That was an outcome of informatics!

Health informatics uses the same principle of processing data, but for the purpose of improving healthcare outcomes. The data collected at doctors' offices, clinics, and pharmacies plays a critical role in healthcare reform. The University of Findlay's Master of Science in Health Informatics Program prepares students to take on emerging healthcare roles and to be successful in a fast-growing field. Our program is offered in two formats, which provides our students with the flexibility to fit classes into their busy schedules. The program is offered 100 percent online or in a hybrid format, which is a combination of both online and on-campus courses.

Students can complete the Master of Science in Health Informatics Program in just two years. They also have the option to complete six courses to earn the Certificate in Health Informatics, which can be applied towards the master's degree later.

As a student in the University of Findlay's Theatre Program, you will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre. We also have two emphasis options for you to pick from.

This option consists of four years at the University of Findlay and is completed with the awarding of a bachelor's degree. It's a program developed in consultation with representatives from veterinary schools who stress the need for both strong academic preparation and practical animal contact for veterinary candidates. Two special seminars provide orientation to the various fields of veterinary medicine and facilitate application to veterinary schools.   

Our students reap the benefits of outstanding facilities and strong relationships with area professionals. Learning opportunities include:

Observing at Findlay’s equine hospital (board-certified equine surgeon on staff). The University Equine Veterinary Services, Inc. (located at our English riding facility)offers emergency and routine medical and surgical services for Findlay's animal herds and animals belonging to the general public.

Public relations professionals manage an organization’s most valuable assets - reputation and relationships.

With a degree in public relations from the University of Findlay you will be prepared work in corporations, PR agencies, nonprofit organizations or the government. Students pursuing the Marketing Emphasis have the opportunity to complement their degree with a minor or double-major in other areas of business which include finance, accounting, management, international business, graphic design, English, or communication.

Findlay's children's book illustration major provides a curriculum focused on skills specific to the field of illustration such as drawing, painting, printmaking, design and typography while also integrating coursework in children's literature.  Students work closely with art faculty and the Mazza Museum staff to gain knowledge of the publishing industry and develop their skills in sequential storytelling.

Program Highlights

• Students in the children's book illustration major enjoy access to the Mazza Museum, the most diverse collection of original artwork by children's book illustrators in the world. Students attend annual Mazza conferences, interact with nationally recognized award-winning illustrators, complete internships with the museum, and volunteer with monthly educational events.
• The Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery provides opportunities for art management students to participate in the organization, preparation, and installation of shows. The Lea Gallery presents eight to ten exhibitions throughout the year, including works by students, faculty, and regional and national artists.  Students engage with exhibiting artists through gallery talks, classroom demonstrations, and public presentations.
• Children's book illustration majors have the opportunity to visit nationally-recognized museums and galleries through study trips abroad, annual art program trips to New York City and Chicago, and class trips to museums such as the Toledo Museum of Art and the Detroit Institute of Art.

Students who choose to study accounting at the University of Findlay graduate with more than just a basic understanding of accounting - they understand the business as a whole. They earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, which provides them with the foundational skills and in-depth knowledge required to be successful in the world of business.

• Courses that exceed Ohio Certified Public Accountant (CPA) academic requirements - If interested in obtaining the CPA license, you can join the CPA track program, which combines an undergraduate degree specializing in accounting with an MBA (4+1) program. If you’re interested in sitting for the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam, you may take it as an upperclassman upon recommendation of your adviser or upon graduation.
• Mentorship program with community partners - Mentoring and shadowing provide real-world knowledge and networking opportunities. Accounting freshmen and sophomores are paired with juniors and seniors, while juniors and seniors have a professional in the field as a mentor for career advice and guidance.
