The University of Findlay offers courses that will introduce you to criminal conduct described as violations of trust both domestically and around the world. Our courses are designed to prepare you for successful careers in many areas of criminal justice such as law enforcement, courts, corrections, risk assessment or juvenile justice.
Criminal justice majors benefit from an interdisciplinary curriculum that blends both academics and experience to bridge the gap between theory and practice. You will be able to write and speak effectively, apply analytical strategies toward solving complex problems, work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and exhibit the skills necessary to lead and manage people.

Throughout the entire program, expert faculty with field experience in areas such as fraud, crime scene investigation, corrections, loss prevention and juvenile justice will serve as your professors and advisors. Join the corporate world with a business emphasis

An emphasis in business prepares students for careers in the corporate or small business environment. Graduates will be able to design new systems to meet the needs of the client and integrate new computer technologies as appropriate, to increase the power of existing computer systems.  This is vital to the success of any organization.

To complete a Computer Science degree with a Business Emphasis you must complete seven business emphasis courses in addition to the computer science core courses.

The English program provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in many diverse areas of education, public relations, communications, law, and marketing.  As an English major, you will develop skills to become a critical reader, writer, and thinker through the study of diverse literary genres, writing strategies, and research skills.

Literature
The literature emphasis teaches students to become scholars who can think critically and analyze written, oral, and visual texts in a variety of genres. The focus helps to develop an understanding of the relationship between writer and audience and teaches students to situate texts within relative social, cultural, and historical contexts.

General Writing
The general writing emphasis provides students the opportunity to develop critical reading, writing, and thinking skills through exposure to a variety of primary and secondary texts. Students learn to recognize that all speech acts occur in a specific rhetorical context and are trained to communicate effectively in genres appropriate to those contexts.

• Pairs well with other subjects - Our program is flexible and pairs well with a number of other subjects, allowing students to individualize their degree to best fit their career goals. Students pursuing the Economics Emphasis have the opportunity to complement their degree with a minor or double-major in other areas of business which include finance, marketing, accounting, management, and international business.

Creative Writing
The creative writing emphasis focuses on the development and writing of original works and promotes opportunity for self-expression, emphasizing the relationship between writer and audience, while also exposing students to the professional world of publishing.

Medical laboratory scientists perform laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. These tests range from simple blood tests to more complex analyses such as those needed to uncover diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or cancer. Medical laboratory scientists can also specialize in areas such as chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunology and microbiology. They are responsible for the accuracy of test results and the reporting of results to the pathologist or other doctors.

The University of Findlay's MLS program will prepare you to enter an accredited clinical education training program. The program includes courses that are required for certification as well as the general education requirements needed for a bachelor of science degree.
