As a forensic science major at the University of New Haven, you will learn to use science and technology to uncover evidence that can "testify" in court and impact criminal or civil cases. The objective of the Master of Science in Accounting program is to provide an in-depth framework for corporate, forensic, AI/analytics, and taxation accounting inquiry, devised in structure and content from the entire scope and process of accounting-information-based economic decision-making. The existence of such a framework is intended to provide graduate accountants and professional practitioners with an opportunity to share in the development and assessment of issues of accounting interest within a decision-making context. Additionally, the Master of Science in Accounting program is designed to provide non-accountants and practitioners with the accounting credits requisite for certification.

The AI/Analytics concentration provides the tools for data analysis used in auditing, predictive modeling, forensic accounting, and business operations analytics.  These tools will enhance the traditional skillsets provided in the Master of Science in Accounting core.  This is a cutting-edge field in the modern American marketplace.

Program Outcomes:

• Students will demonstrate familiarity with the fundamental concepts and knowledge in their concentration areas of Corporate, Forensic, Tax, or AI/Analytics.

Mechanical engineering students can choose the topic for their research projects. A group of students recently opted for the highly relevant and newsworthy topic of renewable, alternative energy sources for their project. Their work explored solar heating of domestic hot water systems, wind turbine energy, and heat pipe theory as it relates to evacuated solar collectors.

The ultimate goal of economics is to improve the quality of life for all, but the ultimate reality of economics is that the resources to do that are limited. Choices and trade-offs are, therefore, a given. Where do we direct those limited resources? What are we willing to give up in order to make something else happen? It’s a complicated balance, and it’s the job of an economist to guide informed decision making. Because of the magnitude of this work, salaries for economics graduates are among the highest of any discipline.

Our Cybersecurity and Networks program prepares you for these careers with a combination of practical skills and cutting-edge knowledge, leading you to success as an Information Security Analyst, Digital Forensic Examiner, Network Engineer, or System Administrator — to name just a few of your possible career titles.

There are two versions to the program. One version is for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field, while the other is for those with no prior education in these areas. Those coming to the program without this education simply complete a set of four additional bridge courses on the topics of programming and computer systems. These will help you transition from your previous background to a level of readiness that enables you to successfully pursue the rest of the degree program.

You will complete a substantial project that will demonstrate your level of expertise and professionalism so that you can hit the ground running when you land that coveted position in your chosen area. There are three ways to satisfy the project requirement: a thesis for which research would be done; taking a course in which a significant project occurs; or taking a separate course specifically dedicated to a project.

Our program is a great choice for those who’ve recently completed an undergraduate degree or who are looking to continue their education straight out of college. The program’s schedule allows for students to complete the program in as few as 12 months for those who meet the criteria to waive the three business foundation courses, and carry a 12-credit hour load. Students who do not meet the waiver criteria may complete the program in less than two years.
