The program is structured to appeal to men and women (40 percent of our current student body is female) who strive to enhance their Jewish learning through a rigorous and stimulating program. Whether you want to continue professionally in fields such as law or business, enter into more traditional areas like Jewish education or Jewish communal service, or pursue the degree out of intellectual curiosity and personal interest, the program is for those who want to be challenged and inspired.

In this interdisciplinary master’s degree, you’ll design and build cutting-edge AI technologies for a variety of applications like finance, biotech, cybersecurity, adtech and law. Working with top researchers and accomplished industry experts, you’ll bridge AI and machine-learning models, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning and neural networks and reinforcement learning, with engineering best practices including problem framing, requirements gathering, UI/UX and software development. In addition, you’ll gain hands-on experience with structured and unstructured data using the latest tools like Python, R, Google ML Kit, SQL/NoSQL, and TensorFlow. The Music Department offers course work and performing opportunities in Western classical music and jazz at the undergraduate level.

A fundamental guideline for all students pursuing the major and minor in music is that they should have a healthy balance between academic courses (history, theory, style analysis) and performance courses (chamber ensembles, jazz ensemble, applied music lessons). The study of music and the experience of music should reinforce each other. In this same light, music theory courses (harmony) place an emphasis on writing music.

The Music Department strongly encourages its majors to extend and refine their performance abilities during their student years by enrolling in at least one performance-oriented course each term that they are students. This means that many music majors (and minors, too) frequently take more courses in music performance ensembles and lessons than they are allowed to apply toward their major.

Political science involves the systematic study of the public affairs or politics of the state. The word politics derives from the ancient Greek polis or city-state and signifies the manner in which the inhabitants of the (city-) state are governed. Political scientists study all factors instrumental or influential in the acquisition and exercise of power for the purposes of public control or governance -- political leaders, governmental institutions, legal systems, public policy, political parties, public interest groups, political ideologies, social movements, media, economic systems, religion and its social institutions, culture, race, ethnicity, gender, demographics and social trends, scientific advances -- on a local, national and international level. They concern themselves with the dynamics of political stability as well as that of political change whether through the ballot box or via revolution in the street. Politics invariably involves competitive power struggles for the right, de jure or de facto, of control over others. The study of politics invariably focuses, therefore, upon conflict, whether that of competitive electoral politics or inter-state rivalry or warfare. Political science research may be descriptive, often using empirical methods (qualitative or quantitative) as well as prescriptive, recommending solutions to prevailing political problems.

The study of economics helps students develop analytical tools to understand how modern economies allocate scarce resources to produce goods and services and how economic performance is affected by policies, technology, and institutions. It also provides students with a rigorous way of thinking about individual, business, and household decision-making.

This track of the Economics major provides ideal training for those interested in law, business, journalism, or public policy.

In the Katz School's interdisciplinary M.S. in Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship, you’ll master the mission-critical scientific, technical and business knowledge needed to launch, manage, scale and commercialize biotechnology innovations and delivery systems. The computer science program at Yeshiva College provides students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills required for long term success in industry and in graduate school.

Students who study in the Yeshiva College English Department gain direct, intimate access to other cultures and time periods, through encounters with works from classical Greece, medieval Europe, and Victorian Britain to U.S. and world literature of the present. At the same time, students develop both analytically and creatively as writers and thinkers, learning to express themselves with clarity and power. In engaging us with a range of forms — poetry, fiction, nonfiction, drama, film, as well as the genres of the Internet age — English courses enlarge our vision of the complexity and richness of human achievements and how we might contribute to them ourselves.

The study of biology is the ideal preparation for students planning to enter professions such as medicine and other health-related fields that require competence in the biologic sciences. Students also select this curriculum because it provides the background to understand basic biological issues in health and disease, as well as environmental concerns.

Biology courses at Yeshiva College keep pace with the ever-changing nature of biological science. Courses are offered in ecology, cell structure, microbiology and immunology, molecular biology, and genetics (emphasizing our newfound ability to analyze and manipulate the genome). Honors courses and guided research projects encourage independent research.
