IDP is responsible for conducting the IELTS exam in India and does not impose strict qualifications for IELTS. However, candidates who wish to take the IELTS exam in India must be at least 16 years old . The conducting body does not set a maximum age limit. According to IDP Education, there has been an annual increase of 10-15% in the number of IELTS test takers compared to pre-pandemic levels.
