This selective-entry, research-oriented honours degree is designed for capable and highly-motivated students who want hands-on involvement in research projects.

It prepares you for the compulsory one-year internship that you will need to complete in order to gain Australia-wide registration as a pharmacist.

Once you've successfully completed the degree and the internship, you will be registered to practise in any area of pharmacy in Australia, including community or hospital pharmacy.

You’ll develop skills and knowledge of food processing and preservation; chemical properties of food materials; food safety, packaging and labelling; and food product and process innovation. You will also undertake subjects to support the wide range of technical positions required by the food industry.

If your background is in science, engineering, agriculture or other related disciplines, the Master of Food Science and Technology is designed to provide professional training in this field. If you have previously completed studies in food science and technology, this degree will enhance and expand your knowledge in the area.

This diploma is a core requirement that can be used in your application to be credentialed by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses, which will allow you to practice as a recognised Mental Health Nurse. Placement allocation is determined by a competitive process. Based on student areas of interest, partners conduct interviews and select their preferred candidates.

Graduates continuing into honours from the RMIT Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences undergraduate degree will commence placement selection in third year.

Applicants graduating from an equivalent degree from other institutions will liaise with the program coordinator to facilitate preferences and placement interview times after application and enrolment.
