This research degree develops advanced research principles, methods and mastery of a body of knowledge in the social sciences by completing a thesis or research project.

This certificate is focused on students gaining highly practical photographic skills with a strong emphasis on collaboration, professionalism and hands-on industry knowledge.

You will initially study all areas of photography in the Certificate IV and upon successful completion, advance to areas of specialisation in the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging.

The one-year Certificate IV is designed to reflect the role of individuals working as photographers' assistants. You will learn to apply a broad range of skills in lighting, image capture, enhancements, manipulation and print output.

Upon successful completion, you are encouraged to apply and advance into areas of specialisation in the Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging. This is also a one-year qualification, where you’ll produce highly professional folios of work both on location and in studio and gain technical skills to plan, carry out and evaluate photo imaging services.

In RMIT's Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Honours), you'll learn the processes behind the production and distribution of electricity.

Electrical engineering at RMIT is about more than just learning the theories behind the discipline. It's about putting those theories into practice to solve problems. You’ll design creative solutions through inspiring and sustainable design-and-build projects, take part in the Engineers Without Borders Challenge, complete industry capstone projects and undertake work placements in Australia or overseas. 

This practical, industry-focused associate degree will nurture your creative potential while building the skills, expertise and versatility you need to become a professional writer and/or editor.

Whatever your goal - to write a novel, start an online magazine, or work as a freelance editor - we'll support and inspire you. 

During your studies you'll work alongside fellow students passionate about reading and writing. You'll also learn from teachers and mentors who are leading practitioners in their fields.

You’ll start by gaining a broad base of skills in fiction, creative nonfiction, professional communication, digital content, grammar and editing. Then you’ll specialise in your preferred areas, with a focus on building a writing portfolio, developing practical projects, and engaging with industry and with readers.

Other opportunities include completing an industry placement, producing the annual Visible Ink anthology, collaborating with creative partners, and building your professional networks by organising and participating in literary events.

There is substantial government and industry investment in space science technology, highlighting the growing gap in skills, both in Australia and internationally.

RMIT's Bachelor of Space Science will develop critical skills in space science and technology, connecting the upstream (build/launch) and downstream (application of space-related products and services) industries.

There is no degree quite like this one in Australia. We lead the way in both space science and engineering research. We provide a unique mix of physics, engineering, geospatial science, mathematics, statistics, and specialised space studies. 

This degree encompasses multiple partnerships with national and international space companies and space agencies. Industry connections include Space Applications Services, Electro Optic Systems, Geoscience Australia and space agencies of countries around the world, such as USA (NASA), Japan, (JAXA), Europe (ESA) and Germany (DLR).

You will have access to state-of-the-art facilities including, the RMIT Optical Telescope, the SPACE Research Centre and the Virtual Experiences Laboratory, and the Space Industry Hub. 

Work integrated learning is an essential part of the degree. You'll be able to undertake a 12-week industry placement so that you can immerse yourself in the world of space. Some of these placements are run through Saber Astronautics, Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO.

This degree will provide you with the foundation research skills that will support your future career as a scientist or researcher.
