Whether you’re working on a home, office, hotel, commercial environment or something unique, this course is designed to give you the creative skills you need to build a career in the field of interior design.

In this dynamic, practical, industry-relevant course, you'll learn 2D and 3D design skills and the decorative aspect of design. You’ll delve into the exploration of colour, materials and finishes, interior construction techniques, soft furnishings, and fabrics and furniture. With research and practical tasks across historical and contemporary styles and trends, you’ll develop high-level documentation and technical skills in order to respond to professional briefs for both residential and commercial clients.

You'll develop a deeper understanding of commercial and residential interiors, spatial layout, furnishings and decorative treatments, and the documentation process.

As an interior designer, you will:

• Develop well-planned and functional spaces
• Decorate residential and commercial environments
• Draw sketches and produce samples of your design ideas
• Source paint colours, lighting, furniture and flooring
• Provide advice on soft and hard finishes, artwork, and accessories for an interior scheme.
• Provide on-site design and construction advice.

Through this course, your knowledge and skills will expand to allow you to create and communicate your design concepts, evaluate briefs and apply basic business skills to domestic and commercial projects.

Expand on your love of languages and develop the skills to use, translate and interpret language every day, in settings as diverse as policy making, strategic debate, and analytical thinking.

Studying the Master of Translating and Interpreting in the heart of Melbourne, you'll learn how to use communication media to support translating and interpreting, and gain insight into the intersection of theory and practice.

You also have the option to undertake further study in interpreting for community health, medical fields, police and legal contexts, and conferences.

By linking translation technology, ethics, and professional and theoretical studies to practical issues in translating and interpreting, you’ll be prepared for whatever path your interpreting or translating career takes you.

Focus on design
You will focus intensively on the practice of design itself, developing advanced, specialised techniques for creative and collaborative work. Projects are curated around key sites of urban change locally and globally and engage with the professional and community networks invested in their future. 

You will learn to creatively integrate expertise from related urban disciplines into design proposals, promoting alternative models for future city-building. This program is designed to nurture designers who would like to advance their career and develop innovative approaches to their practice.

Build upon your foundation of scientific knowledge and develop a deeper knowledge of scientific principles.

In this course, you will gain stronger practical skills and more hands-on laboratory experience.

As a laboratory technician, you’ll be able to conduct tests for pathologists, biochemists, clinical chemists, pharmacologists, veterinarians, microbiologists and bacteriologists. You’ll also be able to apply your knowledge of living systems to work toward solving important issues, such as controlling disease and making the environment safer.

You will provide technical support to scientists working in research, production and testing roles. Under supervision, you’ll get to examine changes in cells and tissues, perform chemical analyses of blood and other body fluids, and assist with research.
With this qualification, you’ll be able to work in hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, private pathology laboratories, commercial laboratories and government departments.

The Bachelor of Youth Work and Youth Studies explores complex social issues affecting at-risk youth, such as homelessness, radicalisation, poverty and mental health. It encourages critical debate and investigation of youth in relation to space, digital landscapes, culture, religion, family and the law.

This degree aims to examine and foster the environments in which all young people can thrive and feel confident, connected and safe.

This degree combines the essential elements of environmental science with environmental engineering.

You will learn to understand interactions in the environment and how to design solutions to environmental problems.

As a double degree graduate, you will be uniquely placed to work in a variety of industries and roles, with a combined understanding of the science and the ability to design technical solutions.

In your final year you will choose your minor study in environmental biology, environmental chemistry or groundwater engineering.

Combining studies in urban planning and built environment with the social, economic, and political environment, the Master of Urban Planning and Environment equips you to shape efficient, practical, healthy, and sustainable cities.

This degree is offered online and face-to face. It is primarily taught through evening classes during the week, with some topics delivered through intensive full-day workshops. All core topics and some electives are also offered online in case students aren’t able to study face-to-face.
