UNSW Master of Engineering Science in (Water, Wastewater and Waste Engineering) is a 2-year full-time postgraduate degree that promotes flexible learning at Australia’s leading engineering faculty. It’s designed for students who already have a four-year accredited engineering degree and want to broaden their job prospects through cross training, re-training or specialisation.

Water, like many natural resources, is the lifeblood of individuals and communities across the world. Effective and sustainable water and wastewater treatment are crucial for urban populations as well as environmentally responsible waste management. If you’re an engineer or professional interested in expanding your knowledge and skills in the area, this degree will cover current and future technologies for water usage, wastewater treatment and waste disposal. This Honours degree gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Construction Management and Property by undertaking a significant research project. You have the option to specialise in building, property development or quantity surveying, or complete a generalist Honours degree that covers all these areas.

Following completion of the Honours year, you may apply to undertake a research degree such as the Master of Philosophy, Masters by Research or a PhD.

The SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship. Previous work placement students have interned with IT companies, start-ups, government departments and large biomedical and biotechnology companies. Along with new professional skills and connections, you’ll also gain course credit for your work placement.

• The SCIF2041 Research Internship course gives you the opportunity to complete a short theoretical or experimental research project in a world-leading research team supervised by a member of academic staff. Internships may also involve a placement outside of UNSW, in the form of externally funded research programs.

The UNSW Bachelor of Commerce/Fine Arts is a double-degree that can be completed in 4 years full-time, or the part-time equivalent.  

Through the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), you’ll learn in the classroom and the boardroom.
