The Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence (MIDI) (Extension) prepares you for a career in health emergencies, outbreaks, infectious diseases risk assessment and emergency response related to infectious diseases and other threats.

Medical Pharmacology

Explore the effect that drugs have on living tissues and the normal body functions of humans. This major looks at the efficacy of drugs, the ability of the body to metabolise them and the toxicology/side effects of drugs. Professional positions for pharmacologists often occur in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries in the testing and research of drugs as well as in administration and management.

Computational Design (Major)

When you study Computational Design at UNSW, you’ll learn to approach challenges differently through design-thinking. This innovative degree extends the Civil Engineering Bachelor degree by including courses in Architecture from the School of Built Environment. Civil engineers create and manage the infrastructure of our built environment, including bridges, roads and highways, tunnels, dams, ports and harbours, railways, water supply and sewerage schemes, irrigation systems and many other structures.

The degree will lead to a professionally accredited Engineering qualification with a foundation in architectural principles and an understanding of both the architect's role in structural design and the connection between architects and engineers. This double degree in mathematics and computer studies makes a valuable combination. While the advanced mathematics (honours) degree focuses on in-depth understanding of pure and applied mathematics, the computer science degree looks at the design, construction and uses of computer systems.

UNSW offers mathematics students advanced facilities combined with innovative teaching. Your mathematics studies will assist with the manipulation of data as well as the development of algorithms in computer science. The advanced mathematics component involves advanced coursework with an honours-level research project.
