What you'll learn

This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in economics, finance and trade. 

Laws (Honours)
As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to have practical learning experiences including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a Community Justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practise upon graduation.

Economics, Finance and Trade
You will study core courses in areas such as accounting and economic theory. You will also learn the latest in specialist areas such as:

• Growth development and the macroeconomy
• Portfolio and fund management
• International currency and banking markets

This Fast-track to Masters program allows you to fast-track your career by completing an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in just four years. You will be able to diversify your skill set, increase your earning potential with a more advanced qualification, and expand your career opportunities across a range of fields.

The Bachelor of Business (Property) is the longest-running degree of its type in Australia, and the only one of its kind in South Australia. You will learn about property investment, development, valuation, management, agency and property research. 

As a property professional you will gather and analyse information to help you make informed decisions and offer practical advice about the use and management of property. 

What you'll learn

The degree starts with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers. 

In your specialisation you will focus on property valuation, development and investment. Specific areas include building evaluation, planning and land use, property law and economics, property practice, investment and development, and entrepreneurship.

This degree will develop your knowledge of the global business environment and enable you to maximise your career development opportunities and employment prospects. You will benefit from a range of experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study trips and business mentorships with a senior business leader through the Executive Partners Program.

You will learn about business strategy, international trade, global marketing and international human resource management with a focus on the design and planning of effective media, and brand management strategy.

What you'll learn

The two year program comprises 16 courses, including 4 electives and an industry placement/project. You will start with seven core courses common to all specialisations in the IMBA. Through these you will develop advanced skills and expertise in areas of international management including:

With a focus on the borrowing, lending and investing of money, you will develop a dynamic understanding of the complex finance industry as part of your degree. You will gain knowledge in areas such as investment banking and fund management, and have the chance to learn in our state-of-the-art Iress Trading Room on campus.

What you'll learn

You will start with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers. 

In your specialisation you will focus on finance and financial markets. Specific areas include financial markets and institutions: international currency and banking markets; portfolio and fund management; macroeconomics; corporate valuation; and financial risk analysis and management.

With a Master of Finance you will be equipped to manage the challenges of the fast-developing global finance industry.

This degree has a strong focus on experience-based learning. You will use simulated financial markets in the Finance Trading Room to enhance your learning and engage in real world practical tasks in specialised fields in Finance. You can also choose to enhance your business consulting skills and experience through a professional business placement in Australia or overseas.

What you'll learn

The Master of Finance is made up of 16 courses in areas such as financial theory and markets, investment management, corporate finance as well as econometrics. You will also study two electives as part of your studies. One of your elective options is a 150-hour industry placement either in Australia or overseas.  The program will take 2 years full-time to be completed. If you are eligible for Advanced Standing*, it will take only 1.5 years.

As part of this packaged program, you can:

• Build your own degree by completing two minors (usually eight courses)) across a range of different study areas

The Master of Management (Tourism and Event Management) degree will explore contemporary management skills and you will study areas such as project management, sustainable tourism, and event management. You will also focus on the key principles which govern the tourism industry and gain the confidence to manage organisations and achieve business objectives in an efficient and effective manner.

Your undergraduate degree will start with core courses in business. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals such as international business, economics and entrepreneurship.

In your law studies you can undertake a Community Justice Project, practice advocacy and negotiation, or gain industry experience through participation in our Legal Advice Clinic or a professional placement. 

In your arts studies you can enjoy flexibility through your choice of 2 Arts Majors from the list of Bachelor of Arts majors. The expertise you gain in two arts-related areas, in addition to your law studies, will further improve your employment prospects.

Arts

In this unique arts degree you can select two majors, further developing skills and knowledge in two distinct - but potentially complementary - disciplines. Studying a double major increases your employment prospects. You will also graduate with writing, presentation, digital, communication, research and problem solving skills that can be transferred across a range of roles and are highly regarded by prospective employers.

You will choose your two arts majors from one of these specialisations:

• Applied Linguistics: develop an in-depth understanding of human language through the integration of theoretical and applied perspectives, with a strong practical, community and industry focus.
• Creative Writing and Literature: combine critical engagement with literary theory in a complementary exploration of creative writing techniques across a range of genres.
• Cultural Studies: explore the complex and diverse economic, cultural, social, historical and political legacies that influence modern-day society. 
• English Language*: develop advanced level English skills and gain intercultural expertise to work in a variety of countries and contexts.
• History and Global Politics: explore the patterns and processes that have shaped our societies over time and help you analyse and predict events in our contemporary world.
• Languages (French, Italian, Japanese, English as an Additional Language): develop the knowledge and skills to express yourself in a major world language in the context of linguistic and cultural diversity.
• Psychology: develop a broad knowledge of psychological science including psychology, mental health, social services and human resources.

The UniSA Master of Business Administration (MBA) has been developed for experienced managers and enterprising leaders. It has a strong practical focus on senior management decision-making and embeds the latest in management and leadership research.

Finance specialisation

What you'll learn
The MBA degree comprises eight compulsory core courses, three electives and a final capstone experience. The MBA academic year is divided into four study periods of 10 weeks each. Courses are delivered in the evenings over the 10-week period, or can be studied in intensive mode if you require more flexibility.

All MBA courses have an applied focus. They draw on real-life business case studies, and you are encouraged to draw on your own industry and workplace-based scenarios for assessment tasks. Courses also feature visiting industry leaders, who will lead discussions around contemporary business problems.

This highly flexible degree allows you to tailor your studies to your interests and future career.

You could:

• Build your own degree by completing a mix of minors (with or without electives) or sub-majors across a range of different study areas
