The Software Systems Developer program features an accelerated, project-based learning environment to prepare you for a career as a full-stack web and/or mobile developer.

This 8-month program will provide you with a strong foundation in multiple emerging web and mobile application development tools and technologies. Students will acquire hands-on experience through lecture and lab exercises combined with applied knowledge through internal and industry projects.

The Technology Support Professional (TSP) program is a 10-month blended full-time program designed to get students ready to start a career in information technology. It is an ideal program for individuals with no previous background or education in computing, as well as those who need to retrain or upgrade their present computer skills. It is offered by BCIT's Technology Professional Programs department.

The blended delivery model offers students the flexibility to complete the program online. While courses are offered in the traditional face-to-face format for those who prefer to be on campus, students may also minimize classroom time, or alternate between modes. After 3 days of in-class orientation at the beginning of the program, students have the option to work remotely for most of the program duration. Class is live streamed from a state of the art broadcast room at BCIT’s downtown campus.

The TSP program provides a solid foundation of IT skills on which students can build. Our program is taught in a multi-platform environment with qualified instructors. By the end of the program, students will be able to:

• Install and configure multiple operating systems such as Windows, Windows Server, and Linux
• Configure machines in a virtual environment
• Create routed network environments
• Demonstrate understanding of core network concepts (OSI Model, IPv4, DHCP, Routing, File/Print services, Email)
• Describe current computing concepts (Cloud computing, Storage Area Networks, Virtualization)
• Create a professional resume, and use interview skills to qualify for IT support positions

The NASP program is an applied intensive 1-year program that prepares students for a career in secure system and network administration within both enterprise and service provider environments. It addresses both conventional infrastructure and cloud based alternatives. The program is cohort based and is comprised of ten months of full time lab learning and a two-month industry work term.

NASP develops the requisite expertise to plan, implement, manage, and secure server, storage, network, and application infrastructure. It integrates business communications and leadership throughout its technical curriculum. As a compliment to facilitating the acquisition of technical skills and knowledge, the program provides employment advantages to its students through integrated work experience and the incorporation of industry certifications.

• The program employs project-based instruction, that is organized around the construction of IT solutions, using a variety of current open-source and vendor-specific technologies. By combining these diverse implementations, NASP students acquire an applied, foundational, and multi-vendor skill set.

As indispensable tools in our everyday life, computers and mobile devices are key targets for criminals wishing to steal personal or corporate information, money, and more. There is therefore a growing need for specialists trained in the field of digital forensics and cybersecurity. Specialists in these fields rely on an essential combination of technical expertise, investigative skills, legal knowledge and communication skills.

• Training in computer forensics is extremely important in order to understand how to handle the delicate information in storage devices. Technical people may think they know how to extract data; however, they may inadvertently alter or delete important information. Computer forensics practitioners know how to handle information extraction, as well as how to identify information that is useful in a legal case and how to explain and present it in court.

British Columbia’s high-tech sector is growing rapidly, with Vancouver becoming a global hub for the IT industry. The continued growth of the IT sector creates demand for a range of IT professionals, including support analysts, network administrators, web developers, business and systems analysts, security specialists, system integrators, and more.

The BCIT Computer Information Technology (CIT) Diploma is a unique two-year full-time program that will prepare you for a well-paying career in the IT sector. Focusing on emerging tools and technologies, and offering hands-on work on real industry projects, you’ll be equipped for exciting and evolving tech careers across this growing industry.

The goal of the Bachelor of Interior Design program is to develop graduates who combine research and critical thinking to generate creative solutions that support human behaviour within the interior environment. Students will work on studio projects that include healthcare environments, aging in place, multi-use designs, and public spaces. Aspects of cultural histories, socio- economics, human behaviour, sustainability and global citizenship will be explored and incorporated into their design solutions. Students will expand their knowledge of related fields through discussions with building specialists in electrical, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC trades. The program includes a field study component where students will explore a location of interest for 8 - 10 days as part of the program. In addition, students will take business and communications courses to develop skills in leadership, marketing and professional written and oral communication. Students will also choose several general education electives to complete their Bachelor Degree.

Two additional options are available to students in this program: a co-op and an opportunity to study abroad for a term. These options have a limited number of openings, and interested students will need to go through an application process.

Note :- Students must complete the Diploma in Interior Design before starting the Bachelor of Interior Design.
