The Global Supply Chain Management (AEC) program is designed for students interested in pursuing an exciting career in Supply Chain Management. We created this program in response to the growing demand for Supply Chain and Logistics professionals by the business community in and around Montreal and globally.

Our students become specialists in the global fields of product procurement, production, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

Businesses in Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain commonly use Information Technology as an enabler to run their operations smoothly. For that, we have integrated an IT component into the program to ensure that our graduates have well-rounded skills to help contribute efficiently to a dynamic work environment.

The Civil Engineering Technology Program will prepare you with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a Civil Engineering Technologist. You will learn to interpret engineering drawings and estimate quantities and workforce costs, materials and equipment required for construction projects. You will acquire surveying skills, evaluate the condition of infrastructure, design and layout of existing structures and new rehabilitation projects. In a province undergoing massive investment in renewal, your expertise will help make a difference in the safety and efficiency of cities’ infrastructure.

The early childhood educator works with children from 0 to 12 years old. The attestation of collegial studies prepares future educators to assume the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Meet the basic needs of the child. He must ensure the safety of the child, assess the needs of the latter (hygiene, comfort, sleep, food), give him the appropriate care and assess the relevance of the interventions made.
• Satisfy the psychological and educational needs of the child. He must establish a meaningful relationship with him. He must maintain a climate conducive to the development of the child and the group through his interventions in relation to individual or collective behavior. Educators must create a living environment that promotes the psychomotor, cognitive, language, social, emotional and moral development of the child.
• Play a partnership role with different people. He must work in close collaboration with parents and other community partners so that there is consultation on the interventions to be carried out with children. A good knowledge of the network of educational childcare services and other associated networks as well as taking into account the family and social realities encountered allow him to adjust his interventions and understand their full scope.
• Actively and regularly participate in daily activities and team meetings with colleagues.
• Design and revise the educational program, combining both flexibility and rigor, in its search for educational coherence.

Following their training focused on mastering the computer tools used in financial management, accounting technicians will be able to integrate easily into a small or medium-sized business. These people may occupy positions of agent or office agent in computerized financial management or any position requiring the qualifications acquired by the achievement of the objectives listed below. Having developed a lot of autonomy, they will also be able to earn a living as self-employed workers. In addition, they will be able to cope with technological changes and new work situations that their jobs will inevitably face them in the future.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to perform the following tasks:

• Assist a manager in decision-making to resolve financial and general administration issues.
• Record information as an accounting entry.
• Collaborate in the management of accounts receivable.
• Evaluate manufacturing costs.
• Analyze and interpret financial statements and ratios.
• Perform cost price calculations.
• Complete tax returns.
• Plan and organize financial activities (budgets).

CEGEP GIM is offering AEC in Administrative Techniques program. It is designed to provide you solid information about organization management. 

This program aims to train individuals who will be able to occupy the working functions of financial security advisor as well as those of advisor, adviser, agent or agent in financial services.

The training offers, among other things, the acquisition of skills relating to communication, personal and business accounting, the application of a client approach, work organization, the use of management tools, understanding of economic information and analysis of financial data.

The financial security advisor must be adept at communicating and interacting with clients. This person must be familiar with his products and the related taxation. In addition, it must in particular be able to assess the financial situation of its customers, advise them on the means to achieve their objectives in terms of retirement, investments and various types of insurance. She will be able to develop business relationships for the purposes of support, reference (accountant, tax specialist, notary, etc.) and client development.

This program aims to train operational level project managers who have to plan, organize, coordinate and monitor projects carried out by internal or external resources. The apprenticeships are oriented towards the application of project management techniques to allow graduates to master the progress of their projects and improve their ability to meet the requirements of their customers imposing strong constraints of deadlines, costs and technical performance.

The specific objectives of the program are to develop skills and abilities in the person that will make them capable of:

• Properly define a project to meet the requirements and constraints, and organize a project into controllable elements;
• Sizing requirements, controlling the economic dimension in design and creating value in projects;
• Determine, assess and manage the risks of a project;
• Manage priorities, deadlines, work peaks and quantitative resource conflicts in a multi-project and matrix environment;
• Facilitate the allocation and coordination of human and material resources, and maximize their use;
• Effectively manage a project team;
• Manage performance and control deadlines in a multi-project context;
• Make realistic cost estimates, and track costs and variances against budget;
• Plan purchases and manage subcontractors, suppliers and interfaces;
• Effectively administer contracts.

This program aims to enable students to acquire the knowledge to be able to test software in a professional manner and in accordance with testing techniques as theorized by the International Software Testing Qualification Committee (ISTQB). These people will therefore acquire knowledge related to test tools, operating systems and various programming languages.

At the end of his training, the person will be able to:

• Create and manage software documentation;
• Determine the main functions of an application to solve business problems;
• Program using various programming languages, including web-based and object-oriented technologies;
• Design databases;
• Test using functional and automated techniques;
• Identify errors and follow up with the anomaly management tool.

The mobile application programmer applies skills that are specific to the development of applications. More specifically, he or she:

• Writes, modifies, integrates and tests software code
• Updates existing computer programs by making modifications as specified
• Identifies and communicates technical problems, procedures and solutions
• Prepares reports, manuals and other documents dealing with the status, operation and maintenance of software
• Assists in collecting and documenting user needs
• Conducts research and evaluates, as needed, a large number of software products

The Transport and Logistics Management program trains students on how to organize the transport of goods locally, nationally and internationally, and according to logistical principles that ensure fluidity from the reception stage to the delivery stage on the markets.

At the end of the program, students will know how to:

• Prepare and organize
• The shipment and receipt of goods 
• The local, national and international transport of goods, in compliance with the laws and regulations governing it.
• Establish optimized routes.
• Analyze transport demands and goods to be transported taking into account several elements of various kinds.
• Choose the best mode of transportation to meet customer service and profitability goals.
• Negotiate transport tariffs.
• Complete the documentation required in relation to the type of transport used (customs, billing, etc.).
• Insure the clearance of goods at customs.
• Use warehouse, inventory and distribution management techniques.
