The Animation industry is growing within Canada and there is a demand for Animation professionals. This two-year credential is designed to prepare graduates for animation opportunities in the fields of TV, film, game, and online production. As a student, this program provides you with the opportunity to bring life to characters and stories. Using your creative talents with drawing, animation and production techniques, along with strong storytelling skills, you will create a variety of 2D and 3D animations. A critical component of this program is the production pipeline and the ability to take an animation project from concept to completion. You will work in project-based learning environments and will create work to contribute to your e-portfolio. A field placement in the last semester of the program gives you direct access to the animation industry.

Global Hospitality Management
The Global Hospitality Management graduate certificate program is open to international students with a background in hospitality. This program will complement an already earned diploma or degree in business, hospitality or a related field, and enable applicants to gain a work visa in Canada. Graduates of the Global Hospitality Management program will develop more management and operational ability specific to the hospitality industry and provide graduates with opportunities to obtain a supervisory or management level position in hospitality organizations. The program will focus on essential management and operational areas needed in hospitality organizations through an exploration of theory and practice in the field of management. Students will earn a TrainCan Food Safety Certificate, Smart Serve (responsible alcohol service) Certificate, and WHMIS as part of the core curriculum. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term instead of the Guided Career Management course.

The program curriculum is designed for students who wish to concentrate on the health sciences field and prepares students for application to Conestoga College's School of Health Sciences advanced diploma or degree programs (Respiratory Therapy, McMaster University Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science, Bachelor of Environmental Public Health, etc.). Students wishing to apply to Biotechnology Technician, Fitness and Health Promotion, Hearing Instrument Specialist, Practical Nursing, Nutrition and Food Service Management, Paramedic, Personal Support Worker, and Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant programs are still able to do so by taking either the one-year Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas or upon completion of this one-year Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees.

Students will be introduced to the health sciences field, to college life and college workload, and will be able to increase their competitiveness to support their application to health sciences advanced diploma or degree programs.

Note for international students: the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees is a pathway for international students interested in studying in either the Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science degree or the Bachelor of Environmental Public Health degree ONLY. Students interested in studying in a health science-related two-year diploma program should apply to the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas.

This two-semester graduate certificate program is designed to provide students with highly relevant applied skills, integrative learning experiences, and professional network development for careers in policing. Students will refine their abilities to analyze and make appropriate decisions in complex situations. Through class discussions, simulations, and applied projects, students will gain experience in dealing with social and organizational issues related to police services and community safety within increasingly diverse communities. Through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) experience with relevant community organizations, students will integrate knowledge and skills within an immersive environment.

Throughout the program, you will draw upon theory and techniques of the design, digital media, and animation worlds to conceptualize and create captivating 2D and 3D digital media for a variety of online and mobile applications. Courses are taught by faculty with direct industry experience and cover a broad range of applications such as advanced image capturing and editing techniques, typography, colour theory, green screen techniques, rendering, digital compositing, and post production. Courses also feature a mix of teaching and hands-on lab time, giving you the space to develop and perfect your skills using leading-edge content editing software. Designed to reflect the requirements and workflows found in industry, the program includes both individual and collaborative team-based projects, design iteration, the use of professional design briefs, and budget considerations. Throughout the program, you will develop a portfolio of original work that speaks to your unique strengths. To further support your transition to the workforce, the program facilitates a field placement where you will be given the opportunity to apply your skills on real projects.

Using industry standard equipment and software, storytelling skills are enhanced through lighting, sound design, and post-production finishing.The program's inventory of HD field cameras and professional lighting kits is continually enhanced by the acquisition of the latest ancillary gear. Multi-camera production experience is well served by our fully equipped HD studio along with remote production equipment.The fourth semester of this 2-year program is split between a field placement where you will work within the industry and a final capstone project where you will integrate the skills you have learned within the program. This provides you with an opportunity to produce a project you are passionate about and to strengthen your portfolio. Along with jobs within the Film and Television Industry, the Television and Independent Production Program also prepares you to navigate the world of freelance employment or to create your own opportunities through entrepreneurship.
