In this two year, graduate certificate program, students hone their marketing, communication and analytical skills, to build a brand, attract customers and communicate effectively in a digital marketing environment. At the same time, they gain training in workplace business practices, communications, and interpersonal dynamics. Combined, these help business graduates obtain employment that is commensurate with their interest in marketing, their business skills and their qualifications.

The program enables students to become proficient in the practices and techniques used in modern marketing environments. Students learn how to combine traditional marketing and communication practices with digital marketing applications to insure a successful marketing campaign or strategy.

Program courses are designed to respond to the growing demand for graduates who not only have a background in business and/or traditional marketing, but who also understand the digital arena and have some technical skills in this area. The program will therefore enhance the employability of business graduates, enhancing their undergraduate training with more specialized marketing skills (which are in high demand).

Students will integrate and apply the skills and knowledge acquired in the program during a capstone project in their final semester.

Leadership in Patient Support and Administration is a 1-year program. It is a career-oriented program that is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge. Students in this program take courses from Personal Support Worker program, as well as the Leadership for Healthcare Professionals program.

Confederation College’s Practical Nursing program is a two-year program with an emphasis on providing nursing care to stable, predictable patients across their lifespan.

Courses in the Practical Nursing program cover a wide variety of topics including foundational theory courses, nursing skills/procedures, pharmacology, pathophysiology (disease processes), nursing assessment, and clinical practice. Students will develop the nursing skills needed to help people at various stages of life (infant to older adult) and experience a wide range of exciting clinical practice experiences! Students who graduate from a Ministry approved Personal Support Worker Program may also have advanced credits in the Practical Nursing Program. Students who graduate from the Practical Nursing Program often set their sights on a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after completing the Practical Nursing Program.

• Communicate therapeutically with clients and members of the health care team.

Confederation College’s Business – Marketing two-year diploma program places emphasis on learning key skills as well as developing a business work ethic that will assist you in getting ready to enter this exciting field. Marketing is all about analyzing customer needs and wants and building customer relationships. You will build on your existing strengths and learn how to communicate effectively, conduct market research and analyze those results to make strategic decisions. Personal Support Workers (PSW) are important members of the health care team who assist persons with the tasks of daily living such as home management, personal care, family responsibilities, and social and recreational activities through a holistic approach. As a PSW, you will work with nurses and other health care professionals, assisting them with patient care. The PSW is also a vital part of community health care – and often the person who really makes someone’s day when they need a smile the most. Confederation College’s Personal Support Worker one-year certificate program will give you the skills you need to get into the workforce faster. During this program, you’ll take courses in supportive care, professional growth, helping relationships and assisting clients across the lifespan.

Your last semester will be dedicated to a work placement so that you get real-world experience, giving you an even bigger advantage in the job market.
