Students acquire a solid foundation in art and design, and assess which area of the visual arts fits best with their individual proficiencies and interests. Effective research, problem-solving, and conceptualization skills are developed to prepare them for future studies in art and design. The breadth of hands-on studio art courses available provides an opportunity to learn new skills and techniques, while refining existing ones. Students develop a portfolio of their work, which will be valuable when applying to specialized art or design programs.

Today’s human resource professionals are leaders and managers of change. They respond to the challenges triggered by new trends in technology, increasing government involvement in the employer-employee relationship, workplace diversity and globalization. The future belongs to organizations with the human resource expertise that can lower labour costs, improve productivity, increase responsiveness to customers’ needs, and build employee commitment.

Graduates from the program will be ready to perform all human resources functions within the business environment.  Demonstrating the skills and competencies such as the ability to communicate effectively collaborate with others and displaying initiative and perseverance, graduates will possess the required knowledge, skills and abilities to be a key person within the organization. 

Work-integrated learning 
This program includes a co-op work term component where you will gain practical, on-the-job experience in your field.

Students focus their learning on acquiring knowledge and skills in administrative-based courses by the use of diverse technology to be able to effectively perform in an executive environment. Students have the opportunity to develop supervisory, leadership, and training skills.

Students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. As they gain experience and background, they have course selection options to complement prescribed office administration curriculum and further their interests, skills, and career goals.

In this program, students are provided with both the technical and visual communication skills required for a variety of careers related to photography and imaging. The three main areas of focus are digital capture, imaging technologies, and entrepreneurial skills. Students use industry standard hardware and software to capture and manipulate images in a way that demonstrates their skill and creativity. Students learn how to integrate digital imaging techniques with the fundamentals of photography in order to create images that communicate effectively and meet the needs of a client. Furthermore, students develop business and career development skills that are relevant to the digital photography and imaging industries.

The Acupuncture diploma program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the entry-level standards of practice set by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario  (CTCMPAO). This program provides in-depth theoretical and clinical components of Acupuncture. Students benefit from expert clinical training that combines integrative healthcare models with Traditional Chinese Medicine, providing graduates with the necessary skills to practice as a regulated healthcare professional.

In this program, students prepare  for careers as Denturists. Students  develop knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with their scope of practice, in particular assisting clients in attaining and maintaining oral health. Students gain knowledge and train specifically in clinical and laboratory aspects related to their field, including complete, partial and immediate dentures, and dentures over implants. Students use a problem-solving framework, basing all decisions, judgments and interventions on current research and theory. Students are prepared for the legal and ethical responsibilities of a Denturist with an understanding of business practices related to self-employment.

This program is intended for students who wish to develop a strong educational and experiential base in business. Students acquire skills in acquisitions analysis, market research, selling, networking, financial analysis and planning, various computer applications and systems, social entrepreneurship development, human resource planning and management. Students also develop skills to integrate the whole area of business principles and practices in order to successfully operate and manage a business.

This program is particularly appropriate for students whose goal is to enter a family business, start their own business, or enter employment in a small business. One of the key experiential outcomes is the research, development and presentation of a complete business plan for a new enterprise.

Students are instructed in the use of current Web and Internet technologies to create innovative, interactive products for a variety of users, platforms, and devices. They are taught to plan, design, and develop engaging and intuitive user interfaces. Courses cover the use of current technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the Document Object Model (DOM), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and a variety of popular scripting frameworks. With a focus on user-centred design, students apply human-computer interaction principles, standards-based technologies, and web application best practices to create an accessible, usable, and captivating user experience

Students safely set-up and operate standard machine tools and complex machining equipment, such as CNC lathes and mills. Knowledge and skills learned are used to repair or manufacture components, assist with design of jigs, fixtures, tools, moulds and dies and perform troubleshooting to enact repairs on production tooling. Students use accurate testing methods to ensure accuracy of manufactured components.

This program is designed to assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) in developing themselves further as a nurse practicing in acute complex care and prepare them with the clinical skills to work in an acute complex care setting in Ontario. Emphasis is placed on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practice in acute primary care, and guidance of others as part of the health care team. Students gain advanced theoretical and experiential knowledge in pharmacology, health assessment and emergency nursing through classroom instruction, simulation labs and practicum placements.
