The Computer Programmer, two-year diploma program offers students the opportunity to study current trends in web technologies, computer programming, database, project management, and mobile development. This intensive, two-year program concludes with a work term for eligible students.

Web technology topics include HTML5, CSS5, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON and NodeJS. Students work with server-side programming languages including Microsoft C#.NET, Python and Java. In the database components, students perform all aspects of database design and work with SQL/NOSQL on several database management systems (DSMS). Students demonstrate their knowledge and skills by developing solutions to real world, three tiered (client, server, database) problems.

Major coursework is assigned as term projects that span entire terms allowing students to actively engage in the evaluation, design and implementation of real world software applications. As a result, student develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication skills.

In addition, general education, business, math and communication courses help students expand their organizational, critical thinking and communication skills.

The widespread use of computer technology in all industries, from manufacturing, transportation, construction, education, health and financial institutions means that computer programmers are the key people shaping the solutions of today and tomorrow.

The Lambton College Therapeutic Recreation, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program prepares graduates to work with people who have physical, mental, emotional, cognitive or social limitations that may affect their attitudes, ability and motivation to participate in leisure and maintain healthy, balanced lifestyles. Recreation Therapists address patients’ barriers to independent, meaningful social contact, and community participation.

Graduates work in a variety of settings such as hospitals and related urgent and community care facilities, long term care and assisted living residences, rehabilitation hospitals and clinics, day programs and outpatient services, private community-based agencies. The program is designed to enable graduates to work towards the Therapeutic Recreation Ontario’s (TRO) Registration Credential (R/TRO DIP).

This Lambton College program is licensed to and delivered by Queen's College (PDF), a licensed private career college in Mississauga, Ontario. Students that are registered at Lambton in Mississauga are students of a public college and as such, will receive full credit from Lambton College for all Lambton College courses completed at the Queen's College campus in Mississauga. Students who meet program graduation requirements will graduate with a credential from Lambton College.

The Cyber Security and Computer Forensics, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides students with key concepts of information security, technical and practical job skills necessary to secure, protect and defend network infrastructures and an organization’s valuable data assets.

The curriculum provides for a broad understanding of cyber security concepts, industry best practices for information security and key security concepts that will protect an organization against fraud, data breaches and other vulnerabilities. The program is designed to prepare information and digital security professionals with the ability to manage, provide policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, policy framework, assess and mitigate risk and integrate advanced security solutions.

The growing Internet security sector requires an in-depth understanding of cyber security issues, and fundamental Internet architecture and protocols. In addition, network security skills such as packet, vulnerability, exploit analysis, and cyber security research are also discussed. Graduates will develop highly marketable skills that are required in the burgeoning cyber security field.

Big data enables users to make informed decisions and better predict future outcomes. 

The Lambton College Big Data Analytics, Ontario College Graduate Certificate is focused on utilizing big data technology for unstructured data to help guide executive, management, and industry decision-making.

The innovative curriculum will focus on topics such as information administration, development, project management, and business communications. In combination with Business Intelligence tools, data analytics, and cloud computing, students will blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills to learn how to capture, collect, curate, search, analyze and store complex data sets that are utilized by organizations to guide business decisions. The final semester will enhance all learning outcomes through a co-operative education work term or applied project.

In addition to a full range of enhanced virtualization deployment skills, data analytics, cloud computing theory, project management and business communications students will apply these skills to a variety of cutting-edge open-source and vendor-specific virtualization solutions.

The Supply Chain Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate program will enhance the credentials of successful students, enabling them to demonstrate understanding, knowledge, skills and expertise in supply chain to potential employers. It will further provide students with the ability to envision and produce their own supply chain career plan in preparation for employment.

Emphasis is placed upon learning the elements of supply chain strategic planning, network design, materials handling design and applications and operations. The program will enable students to analyze end-to-end supply chain processes and understand the importance of technology and software applications  in facilitating and supporting supply chain execution. Students will experience a mix of classroom study, online research, hands-on computer applications, individual assignments, group projects, topical quizzes, projects and field study.

In line with these employer demands, the Lambton College Business Analytics, Ontario College Graduate Certificate helps train students to explore, understand, and ultimately influence business planning within organizations where necessary.

Business Analysts have become an integral part of every organization and have the responsibility to adopt modern technologies, methodologies, and historical data to develop insight and improve on future business processes across the organization. In the program, students are equipped with the requisite industry knowledge needed to drive innovation and change in any organization. More so, the curriculum delves into core Business Analyst expertise required such as project and task planning, statistical analysis, report writing, resource management, eliciting, documenting, and communicating requirements, process modelling and improvements, project management and business communication among others.

In addition, students study topics such as business analysis core concept models, requirement documents. and software testing development life cycles and methodologies. The program also covers many industry applications and techniques such as SQL, Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Power BI Waterfall and Agile Methodologies and Requirements Elicitation among others.

The Lambton College International Business, Ontario College Diploma program prepares graduates for exciting and rewarding careers in the global workplace. Students will study foundational business knowledge as well as gain specialized global business knowledge and communications skills required to work in a career in international business.

In the first year, students will be introduced to business courses in marketing, accounting, computer applications, business principles and ethics. Important studies in business communications and mathematics round out the year. The second year will move into international business courses that deal with topics such as international commerce, global supply chain documentation, sales of goods, and marketing from an international trade perspective. Graduates will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and skills in international business.

Upon meeting graduation requirements, pending accreditation approval graduates will possess the necessary course preparation to apply for the Diploma in International Trade from the Forum for International Trade Trading (FITT). This program enables students to fulfill the educational component for Certified International Trade Professional (CITP)® designation from FITT as well as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®. The Lambton College Advanced Project Management - Information Technology, Ontario College Graduate Certificate provides students with highly marketable skills in IT service and project management. This program includes all 10 project management knowledge areas based on the PMI® A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Sixth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2020.

Students apply skills in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling and closing to a wide range of projects. In addition, students expand their IT service management skills by understanding the integrations between IT operations and project management and through collaborative team projects. Use of agile and waterfall project management software tools will enable students to meet the challenging demands of this complex field.

As a mobile college, this program aligns with the Lambton College strategic mandate to be a leader in mobile educational technology. This program is designed to demonstrate the integration of multiple platform teaching technologies for individuals currently responsible for such roles as professional development within corporations, government and the public sector, as well as for online learning developers. Graduates can expect to develop and expand their knowledge of educational theory using state-of-the-art educational technologies.

The dynamic field of Human Resources is critical in today's competitive environment. Companies now recognize that strong management of their human resources provides a competitive advantage and leads to organizational success. This program is designed to provide university and college graduates with essential business skills and a strong foundation in Human Resources. Students also complete a four-month full-time work term gaining valuable work experience and insight into the Human Resources profession.

In the first term, students complete courses that provide them with the necessary knowledge of all the major business disciplines including marketing, accounting and technology. In subsequent terms, students complete all of the courses necessary to write the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam which is required to obtain the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation (http://www.hrpa.ca) at an additional fee.

The program provides students with exposure to all areas of the Human Resources field. Students benefit from small class sizes, hands-on active learning and faculty with diverse experience in all facets of Human Resources.
