In the Business – Finance and Analytics program students will:

• Process and maintain financial records in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations for individuals and/or organizations.
• Prepare and present financial information in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations for individuals and/or organizations.
• Generate financial reports for individuals and/or organizations by applying financial mathematics and statistics.
• Contribute to the development and the implementation of a financial plan to meet individuals’ and/or organizations’ needs and objectives.
• Contribute to the development and the implementation of marketing strategies to promote financial products and services and to enhance customer service.
• Develop and implement strategies to establish and maintain professional networking and business relationships in the finance sector.
• Analyze, within a Canadian context, the impact of economic variables, legislation, ethics, technology and the environment on individuals’ and/or organizations’ operations.
• Develop and implement ongoing strategies for personal and professional development, highlighting ethics, values and standards in the finance sector.

Experiential learning
Learn hands on in Loyalist’s newly equipped The Bay of Quinte Skills Centre:

• Create projects on the latest CNC lathes, milling machines and 3D printing equipment.
• Use state-of-the-art Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to control electromechanical systems.
• Create pneumatic and hydraulic circuits based on common industrial processes.
• Use welding processes to create projects.
• Design components using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and CAD/CAM.
• Gain a deep understanding of machine and tool design, numerical control programming and statistical quality control.

Art and Design Foundation offers a stimulating hands-on, studio based curriculum in which aspiring artist and designers learn a broad range of art and design disciplines. Traditional skills in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture are covered as well as a range of digital techniques and computer-based software, all of which contribute to the development of a quality portfolio.

Every aspect of this intensive eight-month post-grad program is focused on opening doors to employment. Learning features:

• Intensive role-play scenarios.
• Guest speakers representing organizations such as Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (NHL/NBA/MLS), the Ontario Hockey League, Sports Marketing Companies and the American Hockey League, such as the Belleville Senators.
• A field trip to a large North American city to meet with the sales and marketing staff of a major sports and entertainment organization.

Create and innovate under the guidance of distinguished chefs with a rich appreciation of farm-to-table cuisine.

• Work in the kitchen and dining room of Resto 213, Loyalist’s on-campus student-run gourmet restaurant.
• Students participate in The Art of Flavour dinners throughout the year, which provides exposure to different styles of cuisine and winemaking, as well as potential job connections. 
• Earn first-hand experience in all aspects of culinary management — from hosting and service, food preparation, pricing and menu design, to developing marketing strategies.
• Students also prepare food for the Loyalist Market, a retail outlet offering an amazing variety of fresh and frozen products designed and created by Culinary students.
• Optional field trips provide invaluable experience in food and culture. Recent destinations include New York City, Paris, Switzerland and Portugal.
• Receive individual attention from licensed chefs and Red Seal pastry chefs.

Customs compliance and border security have emerged as areas of national focus in public safety and global trade. Train for a career in this dynamic segment of the Canadian economy. Learn with leaders in virtual learning environments – Loyalist’s border simulations have been used by the Canada Border Services Agency to train new recruits.

By integrating science and engineering concepts with industry-specific technologies, civil engineering technicians and technologists assist in the monitoring and inspection of civil infrastructure projects. This well-rounded program combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, both outside (in the field) and inside, in our Building Sciences Lab using industry standard equipment.

• Get a strong foundation in surveying techniques, drafting principles and computer applications, using programs such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Gain skills in structural, municipal and highway design, drafting, materials testing, surveying, inspection, construction supervision and project estimating, to name a few.
• Year one is common with the Construction Engineering Technician program, allowing for ease of transfer.

Radiation safety protection personnel monitor and control radiation exposure while implementing safety measures. Prepare for a career working together with physicists, occupational safety and health specialists, and public health officials in various nuclear, health care and natural environments.
